Back in late summer of 2001, Sting gathered an international group of musicians and a film crew to put together an intimate concert of his music at his villa in Italy. The film is in two parts, with a documentary showing the process of melding these brilliant musicians into a functioning unit capable of producing a coherent sound. The second part is the music as presented that night. Fascinating to watch the creative process and the collaboration as each individual worked separately and in various groups to mold the sound. Especially poignant are the events of September 11, which just happened to be the date for the concert. The documentary ended with the musicians deciding to go on with the show, seemingly having to convince Sting that it was the right thing to do. A very moving experience and the music is divine!
