This is such a hard movie. Finally Channing Tatum takes on a role in which he can be truly proud of. I thought it was an excellent. It's a great depiction of the difficulty of war on both sides, the battlefield and home. War is tough. It's something that sticks with you for a long time. It also captures the essence of doing something you know is right even though it may cost you everything.
It's a PC whine about the war in Iraq. I have two nieces and a nephew there doing what they believe is their duty so that this country can be free and safe. I don't watch any of the "whiny" crap that someone who has never fought for our freedoms turns into a"PC" soapbox. Walk a mile in their shoes then write a script that deals with pride in what you do as a soldier.
An MTV production + The War in Iraq + acting from Channing Tatum + etc. = Crap! My advice to movie production companies: 1. MTV should focus more on its lack of music 2. Stop making Iraq War movies. At least wait until the war is over. 3. Channing Tatum is one of the worst actors in America. Go watch Step Up and She's the Man to see why.
this movie was alright...it just made u thin about what the soldiers go through after coming home from the war. but i think that this movie could've been better..the ending just didn't cut it for me
Stop-Loss is one of the best films I?ve seen this year. It has a great story and a tremendous performance by the cast. The storyline is heart-warming and mid-blowing. It?s really sad what soldiers go through when they get stop-loss. Besides the story, I though the cast did an amazing job portraying their characters. I did not see any actor or actress that didn?t act well. Everyone just acted as if it was a real life experience. Overall, Stop-Loss is a great movie that shows you the emotional life of soldiers fighting in Iraq.
I admit, I was a little hesitant to see this movie. It seems like when you're making a movie about a current war, you always have a point to make. However, I was pleasantly suprised at the depth I felt this movie had. The ending was what I had hoped (but not expected). I think it explores the themes of sacrifice and identity deeply, which is a shame because so few people will examine this movie closely. The acting was very fine, even Cornish's, although her accent was horrible.
not a great movie, too unbelievable to even be called a good movie. still worth seeing, though. and try to look at joseph gordon-levitt in this movie without thinking of heath ledger
An intense and hard-hitting movie. Not as intense as Jarhead or as powerful or moving as Flags of our fathers, but manages to stand on it's own nicely. Ryan Phillippe is electrifying.
I just saw this movie last night and it was so good! I loved it! It really shows what's going on in iraq. And my love, Victor Rasuk with Ryan Phillipe and Channing Tatum as soldiers was absolutely DELICIOUS!!
I really liked this movie. I thought it was a very poignant tale of what our soldiers are going through in this meaningless war. I almost made it through without crying but the end made me sad.
...what can be said about this movie...a drama in top form...a group of actors who prove they are the top...a directorial force not to messed with...camera work that takes you in...a film that must be seen...
