Plot: Two old timers in a country town pretend to be a same sex couple on their tax return and then have to learn how to appear gay before the inspector arrives.
I Know Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, only released 3 years earlier in Australia with Croc Dundee as Adam Sandler!! Both were bad, but at least this version gets away with some stuff because of its foreign charm. Still, not great.
God, this film was so gay (pardon the pun). There's really nothing special to say about Strange Bedfellows. I watched this under sufference due to peer pressure from my Australian mates. While there was the ODD cheap laugh, I got bored very quickly. It takes more for me to laugh than seeing some old guys butt cheeks hanging out from his leather chaps. Bottom line is, if you appreciate Australian B-grade comedies, or if you're a fan of Hogan or Caton, watch it. Maybe. If it's free on tv. Otherwise watch Chuck & Larry. It's lame, but atleast it's funnier.
Just 2 layback mates helping each other out. Thinking no one knows their business, a small town does!! Very good and funny :)
This is not a wonderful gay movie. But it's some fun and has some really possitive stuff. Paul Hogan and Michael Caton a gay couple? That's funny already!
This is the Aussie comedy that has accused the recent Adam Sandler film "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" (which I haven't seen yet but it looks terrible) for ripping off its plot and I agree they both sound very similar but that doesn't really matter because this film is very so-so as well. The script is flatly written and the acting is really under par, although both Paul Hogan and, especially, Michael Caton were both solid in the lead roles. While it does use a lot of gay stereotypes but luckily it wasn't too homophobic (like the characters in this film I also come from a small Aussie country town and believe me that is what some people are like). In the end it is a really shoddy unfunny film but I think that it will be more tolerable than "Chuck & Larry".
Cute Aussie movie - This is the one that the U.S. "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" was made after.
it looks like a chuck and larry rip off--- wait it is like chucl and larry HOLY SH*T THE STOLE THAT MOVIE THOSE BASTERDS
The hilarious film that,"Chuck and Larry" is trying to remake, C and L definitely fell short of this lesser known gem

I've not heard anything great about this, but I would still want to see anything with Paul Hogan in it.
this is an adorable movie.. I was hesitant to watch it.. but they did a good job.. Obviously the theme has been done before.. Three to Tango, Happy Texas..etc.. , but, it is just a bit campy, just a bit trivial.. and really makes you see how one person can change their perspective.
Hilarious and heartwarming would be the two words I would use to describe this Australian comedy. Hogan and Caton do a fabulous job at their roles, with all the supporting cast doing an equally fabulous job.
