The animation was great and all the fight scenes were some of the best I have seen done in animation. It had the familiar feel of the game that made it fun to watch as well.
On the downside the story was all over the place and it didn't have room for all the characters it packed into the flick. Fun to watch though.

Well, it's the best Street Fighter film so far, though that's not really a hard title to win. it's certainly the only one to even come close to accurately capture both the plot of the game AND the actual feel of it. After the Alpha series etc. started adding nutty SciFi and fantasy elements into the backstory, it became all but impossible to do both. Granted, even this film gets a little too SciFi for it's own good (Cyborgs? REALLY?), it's mostly just good old-fashioned fighting, the way Street Fighter should be. Better yet, this is before the series devolved into DBZ-sized fireball fests, so the fights are actual FIGHTS. I don;t care how big a crater you leave, actual punches and kicks will ALWAYS be more exciting that a guy yelling and a screen full of bright light. The Chun-Li battle is one of the best fight scenes in the history of animation, and the climactic Ryu/Ken/Bison brawl isn't bad either. The film's not perfect, though. The plot is far too simple while leaving too many questions unanswered. A big part of that problem are the cameos by many of the game's characters. Including characters just to include them isn't really bad if you're honest that it's just a cameo. Unfortunately, most of these cameos are trumped up to LOOK like they're important to the story, only to turn out to be a total diversion. Even then, it's one of the better video game film adaptations, anime or otherwise

it's animation what else do you expect! so yes a fighting game that was basically 2-d is also a stylish piece of animation with unfortunately not so much of a plot as more a general outline. Fighters wanted - so it seems its a good enough reason to start kickin each others heads in!!!

You know if you're a huge fan, you'll probably disagree with me, but I found that this film doesn't come close to truly being as great as the video game series.

The movie was good with the fight scenes, but story wise was very dismal, at best. Scene jumping from one point to another. Characters such as Dee Jay who are placed needlessly in with dialog no better than giving the thumbs up and saying "okay".

The very definition of high quality anime. The fight between Vega and Chun Li is one of the best fight scenes ever, if not one of the best animated fight scenes. You can't call yourself a Street Fighter fan until you've seen the animes. Even though between this, Alpha, Generations and the animated series, the plot is so twisted we might as well toss out any idea of a semblence of a plot. It's all about the fights, and this is where this movie stands out.
