I wish I had time to watch every movie out there but since I don't I have to be picky about what I choose to watch. This one didn't make the cut because I don't think I'll like it or don't know enough about it to think I might like it.
The animation was great and all the fight scenes were some of the best I have seen done in animation. It had the familiar feel of the game that made it fun to watch as well. On the downside the story was all over the place and it didn't have room for all the characters it packed into the flick. Fun to watch though.
it's animation what else do you expect! so yes a fighting game that was basically 2-d is also a stylish piece of animation with unfortunately not so much of a plot as more a general outline. Fighters wanted - so it seems its a good enough reason to start kickin each others heads in!!!
You know if you're a huge fan, you'll probably disagree with me, but I found that this film doesn't come close to truly being as great as the video game series.
The movie was good with the fight scenes, but story wise was very dismal, at best. Scene jumping from one point to another. Characters such as Dee Jay who are placed needlessly in with dialog no better than giving the thumbs up and saying "okay".
The film's fight scenes are exteremely well done, and the animation is excellent, but the plot is... direct-to-video at best. If you keep your plot expectations low, you shouldn't be disappointed. (But precisely how much plot were you expecting from a Street Fighter film again?)
Can't believe it took me so long to rate this movie. Good take on the video game storyline. Much better then the live action version that shares the same name.
If you are born in the age of videogames you can't have missed out on "Street Fighter" and how game changed the world of videogames and "beat 'em up" games forever. And the animated movie gives the videogame justice with a good storyline and great animation. So just skip and forget the horrible live action movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme and see this one instead.
If you enjoy the game as I do you'll love this ANIME of the characters!! Even if your not a fan of the game, It will have you hooked with all the great martial arts action and drama!!!
this is one of the best animes made from a video game....the drawings,the fights and the characters are amazing....Blanka,BISON,Sagat,KEN,Dhalsim,Zangief,chun-li,Vega and of course the brave RYU!!!! fuckin' better than the movie with Van Damme...this ride kicks ass for sure!!!!
Yeah I liked how dark this film was and that it was much closer to the games than the live action film, but then with animation it's much easier to do so! Nice one!
Y'see? This is how videogame adaptations are supposed to be done. It loses points for some of the cheese in parts (and the "just for the hell of it" fight cameos), but it weaves it all together much better than expected. Still holds up.
Much, MUCH better than the live action crap. The fights are sick. Though, it kinda bothers me how the characters are much more muscular than they are in the games.
