Trashy but sorta fun throwback to 1970's women in prison (or WIP) films. Geneviere Anderson is the lead (though curiously missing from this cast list??) as hard-nosed Florida TV reporter who will do anything to uncover the truth, which includes getting herself thrown in prison in order to sniff out corruption from the inside at a correctional facility where the inmates are all young women convicted on falsified evidence and coerced into servicing prison patrons at the warden-run brothel. Whew! If you've seen a couple WIP films, you've pretty much seen them all, and it's no surprise that the genre has dried up since its heyday during the '70's and early '80's. I mean, how many times can you rehash the same tired formula? As often as you can find new boobs to display I suppose. That makes this 2009 entry slightly novel for this era but makes no changes whatsoever to the source material. Anderson is actually very good, and her begrudging sidekick Thela Brown is hilarious as a foul-mouthed hooker with a gangsta attitude. Together they make this pulp passable if you're in the right mood.
