british crime flick, seen many times before but stick with it, theres some good moments to be had, 2 guys who are totally oposit and from diferent worlds need to stick together after a dealing between them goes wrong and local gangs are on there back, gritty london setting adds to story, with some nice story developments along the way, gollum him self andy serkis, does a nice job as a local nutjob on there trail
urban gollum has stopped chasing hobbits and begins a quiet life of going around beating people up and handling a machete quite well for his precious gun! he lost the ring. lots of drama and violence with adaquate realism. the acting was strong from serkis, walters and mackintosh! small budget, good simple story! no frills, but definietly thrills! interesting debut from gary love. GREAT scene in the lift when serkis is going mental, slicing anywhere, everywhere and the lift doors open to reveal grandma looking rather startled! haha...
This is a fine example of how one can grab a story that has pretty much everything to develop into a fine, out of the box one, and turn it into a "What the fuck was that all about???" one instead. The good: Andy Serkis acting, though a bit exaggerated sometimes (NO ONE is able to survive more than a couple of hours when behaving like that) and the initial expectation it was able to create. The bad: everything i didn't mention in "The Good". Bottom line, this movie struck me as being a story about two gays who were living a very confused relationship. But the weirdest part is that the movie didn't even have any gays.
