Gorgeous to look, but completely pointless in whatever it was trying to say. Is the kind of movie that feels more like solving a riddle than watching a story unfold, why do the characters behave in certain ways? Who is fighting who? Why are these kids fighting? Why they won't age...( read more)

Oshii's best film since AVALON, and a triumphant return to his brilliant style of solemn, philosophical filmmaking.

Extremely slow paced film. The animation were nearly "stills." The storyline is dry. So what it's 3-D. The animation wasn't top notch.

Some of the animation was way cool... but this is the SLOWEST movie EVER. We entertained ourselves laughing about what a slow movie this was. Don't bother with this unless you're a true anime fan.

Good animation, but that's as far as this movie's merits go. Excruciatingly slow-paced and convoluted. A huge disappointment from Oshii whose other movies were superb. Seek entertainment elsewhere if at all possible.

Awesome animation, but boring story. Not enough plane scenes for a movie about pilots.
