This actually is a melodramatic chick flick disguised in an offbeat vehicle.

    Steve Zahn's role was pointless.

The CV radio talking to heaven was tear jerkingly terrible and done only 4382432922 times before.

But the movie had its moments. Not a bad movie...just missed the mar...( read more)k a bit too much. Emotional scenes came up FLAT.

The wonderful Amy Adams and solid Emily Blunt can't quite overcome the sappy sentimental ending which drains away a lot of your goodwill here. Adams is truly luminous throughout and has true movie star magnetism. Its parallels to 'Little Miss Sunshine' extend much deeper than Ark...( read more)in's presence but crucially it lacks that film's humour.

I used to go on ambulance calls to pick up suicides, etc. I always wondered who cleaned up the mess. Now I know.

Quirky and original, "Sunshine Cleaning" excels due to it's very well executed subtlety and grace, and two very strong performances from (two of my favorites) Emily Blunt and Amy Adams.

Sunshine Cleaning is a very touching film about a couple of sisters who open their own biohazard removal company to help get themselves out of debt. Down on love and luck, the two sister's journey teaches them a valuable lesson about life.

I really enjoyed this little ...( read more)indie gem because it touches on a lot of personal family issues that I too have experienced. Amy Adams shines as the star here, and so does Emily Blunt as her younger, unreliable sister. The love/hate interaction between these two siblings is very genuine and real. The chemistry between these is what really anchors this film.

Sunshine Cleaning is a feel good movie that is both endearing and fun. Highly recommended.

I liked its simplicity and beauty of the text.

Rather than following a tight dramatic arc, the picture is propelled forward by the accumulated effect of the various small ways the cleaning service affects both women. The film has some off-kilter humor ? Mr. Arkin can always be depended upon for some cranky old man laughs ? bu...( read more)t its heart lies in the hopeful story of two kind people learning to love and care about themselves and meaningfully realize their mothering instincts. Casting actors as sympathetic as Mses. Adams and Blunt in those parts ? masters at making the deepest internal emotions viscerally felt ? is the sort of coup with which movie magic is made.

I usually love quirky movies and Amy Adams; this one not so much.

Pretty well done (Kristen seemed more moved by it than I did). An optimistic while down in the dumps sort of film.

An unusual premise coupled with a terrific cast make this is a pretty good film.

This film scores by capitilising on its cast, Amy Adams is effortlessly good as per usual and Alan Arkin plays pretty mych the same character he played in Little Miss Sunshine, minus the drug abus...( read more)e. Whilst this is the case, he us still very watchable. Emily Blunt surprised me in this. I really liked her work here, taking what could have been a cliched character and making her interesting.

Very much a character driven film, whilst the story does not take any unexoected turns, the cast make the film really watchable and fun.
