Less of a disaster than Epic Movie, but still a crappily written slapstick-cavalcade with hardly a single good joke to offer. Anyone who finds this hilarious is obviously a few fries short of a Happy Meal. Anyway, seeing as it ended up being one of the worst movies I've ever seen, my word of advice is to avoid it by any means necessary. That is, unless dopey humor and a total lack of comedic timing happens to be to your liking.

This movie was funny...Scary movie writen all over it. You don't know what you get when you watch a movie that says "From 2 of the 5 writers of Scary Movie"....It could be crap. It could be good...It was good this time. Not good like good...but...funny...

Yet another spoof is trundled of the crapola production line, this time its superhero movies that get it....as if they needed it. The whole thing is so so predictable you feel as if you've seen it many times before..and you have. The jokes and prat falls are all the same, the characters are unfunny and all the same and the look is tacky. I really really can't understand why they continue with these, do people really watch em and like em??
The cast in this film is slightly higher than previous efforts, Neilsen is back to add a very slight touch of humour and Tambor, Spiner and David try their best to make this something it isn't...a decent comedy.
The ONLY high point in the entire film is a rather good impersonation of Tom Cruise for a news reel sequence (about 1min long). Its actually extremely good and pretty funny, whoever does it has nailed Cruise perfectly and even looks very similar. That with about two good lines from Neilsen is it. Rent only..maybe.

It is a spoof movie and really makes me miss Leslie Nielsen that died this year (2010). He was perfect for deadpan spoof comedies.

Craig Mazin loves these comedic parodies, and while he shows some improvement with <i>Superhero Movie</i>, this doesn't deliver continuous laughter.<p>The story is unoriginal. This is a parody after all. A bulk of the film follows <i>Spider-Man</i>, while elements from other superhero films are thrown in. These include <i>Batman Begins</i>, <i>Fantastic Four</i>, and <i>X-Men</i>. Hence, the title <i>Superhero Movie</i>. The posters are misleading because all the other superheros have minimal roles. Don't expect a team of superheros saving the city from destruction. This is all Spider-Man. Well, Dragonfly in this case.</p><p>The comedy isn't all bad, as this film is a tad closer to the classics, unlike some other "movie" parodies of these times. Still, there are gags that are overly long and others that are just plain unfunny.</p><p>Thankfully, both Drake Bell and Sara Paxton aren't annoying. As for some of the other characters, it is good that they have little airtime. On another note, it is nice to see Leslie Nielsen doing what he does best.</p><p><i>Superhero Movie</i> may have a brief run time under 80 minutes, but that doesn't mean it is worth the watch.</p>

Nowadays, spoof movies are terrible! However, if I had to picks one of the best ones of this decade, this would be in the top 10 for sure! The category is dying, but I didn't find this one that bad, and I laughed quite a bit!

Superhero Movie offers exactly what you'd expect from any movie where the last word of its title is movie--a long series of fart jokes delivered by actors with little to no comic timing who work for cheap. The only thing I pissed away was maybe 80 minutes of my life but I still felt like that was really wasted. Superhero Movie is essentially a (very) bad cover version of the first Spider-Man movie. The Tracy Morgan segment was kind of funny (I'm still trying to figure out why the hell I laughed at it) and there were a few (very few) jokes that were legitimately funny but for the most part this sucked.

There were small nods to Batman and X-Men, but 90% of the movie was a Spider-Man parody -- such a letdown. I laughed a couple of times, but there were too many sex and toilet jokes and not enough superhero genre spoofing.
