as old school as this movie is and given the mystery surrounding the death of george reeves, the movie is actually still great.

I have this movie with the entire collection of the old classic Adventures of Superman television series. Sure the movie is cheesy but it has it's charm. George Reeves is excellent as Clark Kent and Superman. If they had a bigger budget and better effects then this could have bee...( read more)n a great movie. But they only had so much to work with. But overall I enjoyed this film and the television series that followed.

Interesting film with a social commentary on violence and intolerance. Obviously dated but it still has its charm.

Lois Lane and Clark Kent arrive at the small town of Silsby, home of the world's deepest oil well only to find it off line. These Mole-Men start scaring the people of this small town and it's up to Superman (George Reeves) to protect them from the raving mob.
The movie is only an hour long and feels more like a television episode then anything else. Interesting to watch just to see how they used to make Superman fly (basically it was an over head camera view looking down or in one case, a quick animation sequence).

George Reeves' debut appearance as Superman is better to know fans of the Adventures Of Superman TV series as a two part episode called The Unknown People at the end of season one.

The full version of this movie is found on the 4 disc version of Superman (1978).
