I'm not a Superman fan. I feel he's too dated, too powerful and too goody goody. One of my favourite graphic novels though was The Death of Superman. It showed him at his weakest without involving kryptonite. Superman Doomsday is an excellent animation. It has all the hallmarks o...( read more)f Bruce Timm's work, a fairly powerful score and a decent voice cast. The Doomsday segments are dealt with a bit quickly and handling the death and resurrection storylines in one film feels rushed. It also removes some of the power of Superman's death. There is a brilliant 5-10 minute segment that gets quite deep with how the characters react to his death. Doomsday isn't watered down either. Though mostly (ever so slightly) off camera he snaps necks and crushes people. It's a good story and exciting even for those who prefer their Batman's and Hulk's.

Grumpy Man: Yeah, like we really needed him to bust up the mechanical spider, right? Lame!

Apply this statement to the entire movie.

This almost makes me wanna wash my eyes out with Superman 4...almost.

The 'Death and Return of Superman' storyline gets an animated effort in this fairly liberal but still exciting presentation. While the story tends to drag and the action is few and far between, the fight scenes are simply awesome and the voice cast is outstanding all round. Far b...( read more)etter than many comic book animations and well worth a look, even if you haven't caught the graphic novels. And... ya gotta love Superman in the black suit!

Superman: Doomsday is nothing that's going to send a wild hair up your ass--especially if you compare it to its dragged out comic book story counterpart. The animation's good but not groundbreaking, the fights are cool but only serious Superman fans need bother.

Interesting attempt but does not follow the comicīs script. Most of Supermanīs fans will be disappointed. There were some interesting shots and I liked the animation style proper of the Batmanīs and Supermanīs toons.

This is the story they should've used for the last Superman movie instead of that pile of crap they churned out.

Cool beans, man. Superman gets pounded into the ground by Doomsday. Follows the comic story arc, "Death of Superman", but modified for video. A decent comic-based andimated film, but probably a little too graphic for small children.

This is awesome. I wouldn't have ordinarily watched a movie like this, had it not been for a friend of mine lending it to me. The story was exciting and full of adventure, the characters were well developed and the classic animation was fantastic. A storyline slightly unusual for...( read more) a superman film too, Superman and Comic Book fans alike are sure to love this one.
