  Superman & Batman make for an entertaining match in the comics and I'm glad to say the same applies in the cartoons. The story is good, Lex Luther as the President of the United States is a great idea but it does get a little silly at the end and Captain Marvel in a DC cartoon, that's not right is it? Will Superman and Batman ever meet in live action? God I hope so!

  DC animated movies are kind of weird. They are clearly aimed at kids, but they use adult language. The animation is solid, but the story is all over the place and not wholly original. Here Lex Luther is president of the United States, and he is using an asteroid that is heading for earth as grounds to declare a 1 billion dollar bounty on the heads of Batman and Superman. Now the heroes team up to protect each other and figure out a way to save the Earth from an asteroid. Other than a few curse words, this is movie for kids to kick and punch along to and enjoy seeing the two big DC Icons team up. For adults, it's a lot of eye rolling, and waiting for "Dark Knight Rises" to hurry up and get here. Watch for the kids(if you don't mind your kid hearing a couple curse words), otherwise check out a different DC Animated movie.

  A smart premise presented with such stupidity, you constantly feel that DC wasted a potentially great movie. Spends way too much time with over-the-top super vs. super action instead of all the other things that could've fleshed out the film.

  Very good movie, story and animation!!! LexCorp's CEO Lex Luthor has been elected President of United States during a severe nation-wide economic depression. Under his leadership, the economy begins to thrive and he assembles a force of government-employed superheroes consisting of Captain Atom, Starfire, Katana, Black Lightning, Power Girl, and Major Force. Meanwhile, Superman and Batman maintain their distrust toward Luthor. The United States government discovers that a massive Kryptonite meteor is hurtling toward Earth. Instead of asking superheroes for aid and wanting to take credit for himself, Lex decides to destroy it with nuclear missiles. Lex arranges a meeting with Superman in Gotham City under the pretense of forming a pact. This results in a battle between the hired Metallo and Superman and Batman. Following the heroes' escape, Metallo is killed by an unknown assailant. Later that night, Lex pins Metallo's murder on Superman, using footage of their battle to implicate him. Lex claims that the radiation being emitted by the meteor affects Superman's judgment, and he places a one-billion-dollar bounty on the Man of Steel's head. While breaking into S.T.A.R. Labs, seeking information on the meteor, Batman and Superman find Metallo's remains and realize that intense radiation has killed him. They are then attacked by an army of villains looking to collect on the bounty. The army includes: Silver Banshee, Captain Cold, Icicle, Killer Frost, Mr. Freeze, Gorilla Grodd, Bane, Black Manta, Black Spider, Brimstone, Catman, Cheetah, Copperhead, Deadshot, Kestrel, King Shark, Brutale, Despero, Giganta, Girder, Lady Shiva, Mongul, Captain Boomerang II, Nightshade, Parasite, Solomon Grundy, and Shrike. After some effort, most of the villains are defeated. The remaining villains are defeated by Captain Atom, who has arrived with Lex's superhero team to arrest Superman. All but Power Girl, whose loyalties are divided, attempt to capture the heroic duo. Superman creates a hurricane using his superspeed, and the two heroes escape with Power Girl. In Metropolis, Power Girl admits that she feels threatened by Lex, and doesn't believe Superman killed Metallo. Lex's superheroes catch up and the fight begins again, this time with Power Girl aiding Superman and Batman. The Dark Knight realizes that Major Force killed Metallo under Luthor's orders and goads him into admitting it in front of everyone. In anger, Power Girl punches him in the stomach with so much force that it ruptures his containment suit. Captain Atom, ashamed at his complicity in Lex's misdeeds, absorbs the energy, disintegrating Major Force and injuring himself in the process. Meanwhile, Lex's missiles fail to stop the meteor due to the sheer amount of radiation being emitted. Amanda Waller discovers that Lex has secretly been taking kryptonite steroids, making him lose whatever rationality he had left. Lex decides to let the meteor hit the Earth so that he may rule what remains behind. Batman and Superman break into Lex's lab to retrieve data on the meteor's radiation. They end up in battle with Captain Marvel and Hawkman, eventually emerging victorious with Power Girl's aid. Though Lex is unwilling to relinquish the data, going so far as to erase it from the lab computers, Waller gives them a copy. Batman and Superman fly off to Tokyo to submit the meteor's data to the Japanese Toyman. Waller tries to have Lex arrested, but he injects himself with more kryptonite steroids and dons a power suit. After escaping Waller and the military, Lex follows Superman and Batman. Toyman has built a rocket-propelled spacecraft, intending to use it as a powerful missile to stop the meteor. The ship resembles a giant, robotic composite version of Superman and Batman. With the data, Toyman is able to calculate the necessary reinforcements needed for his own rocket so it won't explode before impact, as Luthor's missiles did. Lex arrives and disables the remote guidance systems. Batman volunteers to fly the ship himself, despite Superman's protests. Though initially faring poorly against Lex and his kryptonite power suit, Superman finally defeats Luthor in the streets of Metropolis in an aerial battle. Batman succeeds in destroying the meteor, and Superman finds him alive and well in an escape pod. With the truth of Metallo's death public knowledge, Superman is cleared of the murder charge and Luthor is arrested, all the while ranting that he, as President, cannot go to prison. Batman then returns to Gotham while the Daily Planet's star journalist, Lois Lane, arrives and she and the Man of Steel happily embrace.

  Yes, it has the two biggest superheroes together, but this is incredibly mediocre and unrewarding. Sadly, the original storyline was thrown out the window and this becomes just one fight after another. The animation looks terrible and the script makes no sense. The only good thing about this are the voice talents of Kevin Conroy and Clancy Brown, who make it semi-descent.

  Mixed feelings followed after I first watched this extremely short (compared to other DC animated movies) adaptation of <i>Superman/Batman</i> graphic novel by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Ed McGuinness and Dexter Vines. Sure, it's short (67 minutes) and not to the letter (no continuity-oriented sidebar). I enjoyed this direct-to-video DC animated movie very much. The action escalates and I see an amazing blend of 2D animation and CG graphics, which was the bright spot in this movie for me. The original voice talent of Batman (Kevin Conroy), Superman (Tim Daly), and Luthor (Clancy Brown) was a great treat for those who love the <i>Batman/Superman</i> adventures animated series.

  While Superman/Batman Public Enemies was good, it didn't floor me the way all the other DC straight to video features did. Public Enemies had a few lapses in logic (that were brought on I'm sure from the translation from book to screen) but they were made up for by some fun action. The title was a bit misleading as the movie seemed to be Superman's story and all Batman really seemed to do (outside of coming up with the answers) was dodge fire and throw batarangs. The voicework was okay, animation so-so and the story cut the foreplay and got straight to the point, clocking in at just over an hour. Public Enemies isn't exactly necessary viewing but its not exactly a waste of time either. Upon watching Public Enemies again after reading the graphic novel it came from, it's really not that great. It's really something you should catch if Cartoon Network shows in a few months more than anything.

  A bit of a disappointment. The ideas are all there. Luthor becomes President, encourages superheroes to work for him, before turning the public on Batman and Superman. It could work, if not for the 67 minute running time. This has as much back story and as many interesting ideas as Watchmen, but that got 3 hours worth. DC should take these animated films VERY seriously, because if done right with the stories the fans want, they really will make a whole lotta cash. The vocal performances are grand, but the action just starts and then ends. With villains and heroes out for both Supes and Bats, a lot of characters just show up and fight, before a bit more exposition. An exciting 67 minutes, I just want quantity and quality.

  Based on the hit comic book series, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies brings together two of DC's biggest properties in an exciting adventure. When Lex Luthor is elected President of the United States he tries to bring superheroes under the control of the government, but when Superman refuses he's setup for a crime that he didn't commit and is branded as an outlaw. Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy, Clancy Brown, and CCH Pounder reprise their characters from the Justice League series, and deliver solid performances. The animation is the best it's ever been, and is especially crisp and vivid. Thrilling and action packed, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies continues the Justice League continuity and is fun and entertaining.

  Pretty dang good Cartoon...maybe because it is rated PG-13. No swearing of course, but this film actually portrays death and violence. Superhero cartoon violence...and it really is only one death...and it was a robot death...wait, how the heck did it rate PG-13??? Because it portrayed political manipulation like what goes on in this country every day??? No more violence then you see on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers...Whatever....Well, it was just good. i wouldn't have any problem with my child watching this.

  I definitely enjoyed this latest DC animated installment of Batman and Superman. The only things I didn't like is that 1) it made me wish the rest of the Justice League were in the movie, and 2) Malcolm McDowell doesn't do the voice of Metallo =(

  Superman and Batman have crossed paths countless times in their histories. It's the greatest love/hate relationship in the entire superhero realm. Here they face not only Lex Luthor as the newly elected President Of The United States, but countless other heroes and villains from the DC Universe. The two heroes stand alone in a fast paced, brawls to the walls action feature with a surprisingly good story, and stellar performances all around by the voice cast. Tim Daly and Kevin Conroy reprise their roles as Superman and Batman, respectively. Also returning is Clancy Brown who brings his usual excellence to Lex Luthor. The movie wastes no time in getting into the action, and it rarely stops to catch its breath. You'll recognize many supporting characters from various DC interpretations, including a lot of old favorites from the Challenge Of The Superfriends cartoon show from the 70's. The animation is outstanding, and differs greatly from the stylistic work done in the previous Batman and Superman shows. It's beauitful animation that finds a proper balance between cell animation, and cg enhancement. My only complaint about the movie is that it is far too short. I wanted more. At 67 minutes it feels like there are scenes that were left out in order to keep the pace lightning fast. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, I'm sure that there are several key elements from the book that were omitted from the film. For example, several mentions are made of Lois Lane, but she doesn't appear until the last 5 minutes of the film. I'm sure there were scenes between her and Superman that the filmmakers chose to ignore. But having never read the book, I don't mind as much as someone who might have read it. This movie kept its focus on its title characters, and delivers the action in spades. It's a must see for all superhero fans who love to watch them throw down.

  An interesting story where the villain is the legitimate authority and the two icons of law and authority are in fact outlaws. They got the best of the voice actors Kevin Conroy and Clancy Brown to reprise their roles (Batman and Lex Luthor respectively) and the even got Tim Daly to reprise Superman (though I think I might prefer George Newburn personally) The relationship between Batman and Superman is interesting and there is plenty of action in terms of super-powered fighting. The downside comes from the animation which just doesn't appeal to me and the story seems somewhat clipped as they try to fit in so much content.
