Plot: Made at the height of the pint-sized Ninja comedy craze, this fast-paced adolescent adventure stars teenage black belt Ernie Reyes Jr. as a California beach boy with a royal legacy. One minute he's a ...( read more read more... )smart-mouth surfer and high-school jester, the next he's battling Ninja assassins, romancing a teenage princess (former Miss Teen USA Kelly Hu), and leading his subjects in a rebellion against a vicious metal-clad colonel (Leslie Nielsen). At least it gets him out of class. Real life karate kid and former Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stuntman Reyes has a winning (if somewhat loud) screen presence and Rob Schneider offers a few laughs as Reyes's clueless buddy. Nielsen, however, mugs his way painfully through a glorified cameo. More frantic than funny, with slapstick liberally sprinkled through the many bloodless martial arts battles, this one is strictly for the kids. --Sean Axmaker

Top-notch film for a children's martial arts movie. Really funny dialog (lots of classic quotes from this one) great characters, fun and inventive fighting, hip music. Definitely a must.

    The ball is up and.....

    Nothing but air.

Watch it once if you are bored, further viewing may cause loss of eyes, IQ, and heart failure.

This action-comedy family film mix of several different genres loses focus. A movie so bad, so stupid, so silly and outrageous that it makes you fall out of your chair laughing. Ninja nonsense!

This isn't one of those films you "just go see". NO! It requires prep work,... and drugs,.. and beverages that contain large quantities of alcohol and may (or may not) have mist flowing from them).

    "Hey, I found Waldo!!! SYKE!!!!"
Some one said to me recently, "I had no idea that Rob Scheider was in that movie the first time I saw it." Good god, this was how I was introduced to him!

I was a young kid when this came out. I mostly watched it because of Ernie Reyes Jr. who is a really talented martial artist. I still enjoy this movie even now regardless of how far fetched it is.

Probably one of the most underated martial arts flicks I have ever seen. Ernie Reyes Jr, whom plays the character Johnny, delivered some very impressive moves and comedy in this flick. I guess you can say the action style bordered along the ninja Turtles and 3 Ninjas flicks. If you haven't seen those, then think of a martial arts flick for the family, that pretty much describes it. It had many great comedic moments as well as great action to watch, not to mention the whole adventure element. There are plenty of one liners and creative comic moments littered throughout the whole film. Rob Schnieder adds plenty to the film with his comedic style and diaglogue. The only negative would be that it was a bit TOO cheesy in some areas, but nonetheless, a great flick to watch with anybody. Get this one on DVD if you can find it.

really bad flick... the only redeeming factor for me here is that Ernie Reyes Sr., Ernie Reyes Jr., and Rob Schneider are all Filipinos! Yep.... even Rob "You Can Do iiiiit" Schneider =)

Now we're talking about a ninja comedy. Totally ridiculous, but kinda charming in its own silly way.

This has been one of my favorite movies for quite a long time. I've seen Surf Ninjas about 20+ times and I still love it. The movie is funny with plenty of action and a ridiculous plot. There is no real point of describing the plot, but just remember that the movie is hilarious and fun. A must see, especially because it is one of the few movies in which Rob Schneider is actually funny.

Another old school favorite of mine...includes a very young Rob Schneider who thinks he's the long-lost heir to an Oriental kingdom.
