April 7, 2008I loved this movie! I thought it was well done. The fact that is was more about the internal objectives than the basic serial killer movie is what really brought this movie to one of the top movies of the year. It was beautifully done musically and artistically. Tim Burton was the perfect man for the job.

April 5, 2008I love Tim Burton movies. This was a good movie, dark and sad. Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman were GREAT in this, I just loved them both!!!! Johnny Depp always does well in strange movie so he fit right in. The singing was not that great, but some of the songs were funny.

April 3, 2008omg johnny depp, helena bonham cater and tim burton are amazing together the darkness of the film is perfect (this next little section is for that guy who thinks tim burton films are for emo and goth kids) even though his films are dark they still are amazing and i am not in the slightest bit emo or goth so dont be so judgemental

March 31, 2008I cant stand Tim Burton! All of his movies are dark, even the happy ones. They seem to be love stories for emo and goth kids. His vision is too dark and unrealistic, like a dipressed picaso.

March 19, 2008I LOVE sweeney Todd im obsessed i have 4 sweeney necklaces, backlit film cell, soundtrack. Its an utter masterpiece and of course Johnny Depp is a brilliant actor to play mr Todd the way he can make you feel sorry for the character even if he pursues to kill and yet you still want to be on his side, and amazing singing voice Johnny and Tim always make the perfect duo in the film business i am never dissapointed with what they produce

March 14, 2008i love the this film so MUCH!!! i am still in shcok of how amazingly good johnny is at singing!! and helena is pretty darn good too! my fave song is a little preist... at the moment anyway (it changes every few days). i just can't stop watching it! And johnny DEFINETLY makes up for the blood =)

February 28, 2008I love musicals. I love Tim Burton. I love Johnny Depp. I love Helena B Carter. Did I mention I love musicals?
This was the worst movie experience I've ever had in theaters in my entire life (at least as far as I can remember).
No song, I repeat NOT ONE song had ANY melody AT ALL. It was just some text sung by the actors, with no harmony whatsoever. It wasn't the film's fault, but the stuff it is based on (I think, don't know much about Sweeney Todd).
I wasn't that bored in theatres for a looooong time. Still one hour in I hoped for the first song with a good melody... but no, nothing, nada. In a musical.
When I saw the trailer I already thought, wow that was a bad song but perhaps the movie will have some great tunes... but it hasn't. Unfortunately.
Worst "musical" movie ever (there aren't that much anyway though). -
February 24, 2008starring : Johnny Depp .. this is one thing that gurantnees that the Movie is GOOD ..
I liked the way they managed to insert some sence of humar in the middle of all this creepiness, If I may say so..
It was great I loved it, eventhough it is so creepy, evil and bloody .. -

Saw the film yesterday. Brilliant. Passed so quickly. Depp is superb. Alan Rickman was spot on in his roll.
Depps singing was right for the part. His voice was dark and fitted the character perfectly. Carter was good at maintaining the dark atmosphere of the film. Didn't find it too gruesome.
Its a very good storey, well acted, with the music letting the storey move easily from set to set.
Another good film to add to Tim Burtons growing list of successes. -
January 30, 2008This is one of my all-time favorite movies. I couldn't love it more. I've seen it twice in theaters, and can't await the arrival of the DVD. Johnny Depp and Helena Boham Carter were fantastic, and brought their own uniqueness to the characters. So did everyone else, come to think of it. It was one of the -est movies I've ever seen. Bloodiest, funniest, coolest. Sweeney Todd is one good-looking murderer, and man, his singing voie makes me melt. I love this movie!! <3
