fd1708, it comes out Dec 21st in Scotland so I'm pretty sure that'll be the same for the rest of the UK :o) -

December 7, 2007I'm really worried about this film. I am A Huge fan of the original Musical From 1982 With Angela Lansbury and Len Cairou (I know I probably spelled his name wrong) Most of the story is driven by the actual songs. Sondheim has really meaty songs, there isn't anything in there that doesn't need to be. Since the actors are not singers how is this movie going to stay afloat. You can listen to some of the music on the official website. Carter's voice is so paper-thin how will she portray a very outward and robust Mrs. Lovett? The visuals on this movie are fantastic and gritty, but the sound isn't. I'm reminded of the sweet sounds of the Carpenters when listening to the duets . . . not gritty passion that is needed for this story to be believable. I just hope the actors don't portray these strong characters as Nonchalant as they seem to be.

November 23, 2007I can't wait for this movie! I have great expectations! You can tell its going to be great. My friends say HBC and Depp only got in because it's Burton we are talking about here, HBC's husband and Burton's done so many movies with Depp. But I think they will do great. HBC is not like the original Mrs. Lovett, but this new darker Mrs. Lovett fits her very well too! I am freaking out, this movie is a big deal for me!

November 21, 2007Want to see this film! Rickman is so brilliant and fabulous...will watch anything with him in it. Story sounds intriguing...however Rickman is the reason I am waiting.

im tired of how some ppl keep comparing johnny && helena to the previous ppl on the musical.
yes they are not gonna be the same
but dont make any predictions saying that johnny && helena are gonna be bad fo the role
you guys havent even seen like 30 min of the movie
you are never gonna know how is it gonna be until you see it all.
so just wait until you see it all.
&& then you can make any comments you want. =] -
November 19, 2007I dont know why but i have a bad feeling about this movie.. Knowing that Burton is a wonderful director with a great point of view, Deep is one of the greates actors of our times.. and Helana Bonham Carter obviously fits on the role, altough i dont know if she is one the make sweet kind of innocent as the role on the play.. Hope that this adptation make justice to the original play.. that is amazing and very amusing.. Cant wait to see it and hear the songs.
