A movie with both simple and advanced humorous elements. The combination of Jean Reno as a calm cool character and Gérard Depardieu as a more or less stupid and anoying guy is perfect.

Gérard Depardieu me fût méconnaissable, moi qui suis plutôt habituée de le voir dans des rôles dramatiques. Comédie magnifiquement réalisée et avec une belle brochette d'acteurs!

Saw this a while ago in my french class, and then I saw it again a few days ago. Depardieu is very cute in this one. When a serious murderer and a brute man meet eachother.. comedy ensues.

Funny and lovable. I haven't seen this film in ages because I lost my DVD of it, which sucks, not as much as Titanic though. But anyway, this was a real happy, feel-good sort of film, and Gerard Depardieu was so cute in it.

The humour that comes out of this film is not intended to be comical; the sheer fact that the lead chracter behaves without boundaries in a backdrop of others who do not see a hint of humour makes it geniusly hilarious. The film does have its poignancy all in all AND Yep! I can watch this over and over again and still find it outrageously FUNNY!! I mean if you were talking to the mafia and heard whoopy cushion making fart sounds, cow mooing plus a lunatic laughing and talking gibberish in the background; something odd must be going on!...The actors portrayed their roles superbly and every scene is laugh-out loud (cross-dressing...) I would recommend this for everyone...though you may like to watch it again and again to understand a few things!!

Depardieu!

I think this is probably the funniest movie I have ever seen! I was laughing so hard the rest of my family is suddenly inspired to learn french, just so they can watch it with me.

The funniest movie I'd seen in ages. Gerard Depardieu is just hilarious in this and plays the idiot to perfection. Jean Reno is great as the straight guy and there are plenty of memorable cameos.

I saw the preview at the start of a bad woody allen movie (note there aren't many good ones) and while I couldn't stand to watch the rest of the movie, it made me want to watch this one

Tais-Toi (be quiet or shut up)!!! Hehehe Great french film, funny, Gerard Depardieu offers an excellent performance as a man that can't stay in silence and always keeps getting in trouble with Jean Reno, funny situations and good characters. I recommend it.

French farce. Hilarious in places. Very fast paced comedy at the start. Worth seeing if only to see Gerard Depardieu doing horse impressions.
