The Amy Theory
I'm a big fan of Thurman & Linklater. So I had to see this Tape. After I saw it, it seemed like I hadn't figured the movie out. So I looked up posts on websites & I found an interesting theory......
As everyone (who watched the movie) knows it surrounds an incident of rape years before the film is set. Through the discussion in the motel throughout the movie, many believe that Amy (Thurman) became pregnant after she was raped by Jon (Leonard). Some also think that Amy not only got pegnant she had an abortion.
Evidence includes:
1) Amy and Vince have their discussion about her "getting fat for different reasons (i.e. pregnacy)
2) When Jon apologizes to Amy, Amy says "I'm not the one he should apologize to." (i.e. her dead child)
3) When Amy says he should die, she talks about her pain during the rape. When she mentions The "steel rod" Amy might not be talking about the rape but about the abortion.
Any thoughts?
