A talented driver & auto mechanic Belle Williams (Queen Latifah) dreams of driving in NASCAR. Belle neglects her boyfriend Jesse (Henry Simmons) has bestowed much love on her custom-built cab over the past five years when she installs a supercharger into the cab.
An undercover detective Andy Washburn (Jimmy Fallon) & partner is wounded in the arm and the Cubans escape. Lt. Marta Robbins, (Jennifer Esposito) confiscates his driver's license and demotes him to Foot Patrol duty at the precinct station.
This movie is hilarious. It has action and comedy. I think Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah did such a great job together. they had me laughing. I love the part where they get trapped in a small room and gas is realeased and they get really high.LOL.
I know Latifah is not a great actress, but come on, even she can do it better! The story is ridiculous, the acting is really bad, the effects are ..eeewww... I mean... you don't need to watch this movie... you don't want to watch this movie!
dare i say it not as bad as it looks, its as you would expect and by the numbers but there is some charm and genuinly funny moments that makes this a suprise package.
this movie is funny! and I love seeing cars race. but i don't know anything about then i just love how fast some can go. so thats why i loved this movie!
'Belle: We've gotta play to your strengths. And thinkin ain't one of them.'
'Washburn's Mom: Andy is not a really a strong driver. See, he had a really bad experience when he had his first driving lesson. So...
Washburn: Driving lesson? You call that a driving lesson?
Washburn's Mom: Yes!
Washburn: Dad let go of the wheel and said "You better steer or you're gonna kill the whole family".
Washburn's Mom: Yeah! It's good for you.
Washburn: We where going 90, I was six!
Washburn's Mom: That's right! And that's the way he taught you to swim!
Washburn: I can't swim either!'
'Belle: What are you trying to do?... A 78-point turn?'
'Lt. Marta Robbins: You're fired. You're not on suspension. You're not on temporary leave. You're fired! Ms. Williams, I'm giving your license back with a warning. If I catch you driving that thing in this city again, it is mine. Andy, as a friend, I'm sorry.
Washburn: But, Lieutenant...
Lt. Marta Robbins: Andy, please! You left me no choice. Now give me your badge.
[Washburn hands over his badge scorched by Belle's boyfriend, Jesse]
Lt. Marta Robbins: What?
[exhales, then walks away]
Belle: Hey... wanna share a cab?
Washburn: [sadly] Yeah.'
'Washburn: [pulls out his badge] See this? This is a badge! It means your not allowed to *scream* at me!
Belle: [takes the badge] Ah Ah Ah.
Washburn: [tries to get badge back] Come on now. Give it back.
[goes to grab badge and ends up flipping over, then stands up with a gun pulled out]
Washburn: Hand it over cabbie!
Belle: Whoa, man! Be cool!
Washburn: Be cool? I had to flip and pull this out of my ankle holster! Now gimme that and shush!
[goes to grab badge, he doesn't get it and Belle gets the gun too]
Washburn: Ah!
Belle: Ha. Yeah! How do you like me to point it at you!'
I still don't know why this did not do better at the box office. Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon had decent comedic chemistry and, overall, this movie ended up being really funny.
I love all movies Queen Latifah is in. She rocks big time. In Taxi, she just shows a wuick side of her. Totally awesome and incredible! Definitely a worth of your time. A great comedy to watch!
An action comedy for low-quality jocks. -Hotness of Giselle Bundchen or D.E.B.S. a la Taxi , check. -'Special' town setting, check -Crazy extra impossible and freaky action in real world,check -Soap opera cinematography and score,check. -Slapstick comedy(Mtv comedy) ,check. -Stupid police action , check. Nah , i can't say nothing now. -
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Jimmy Fallon was hilarious, the car sequences were as good as the ones from the Fast and Furious movies and the bad guys were super hot, supermodels!
pretty funny,some of gags are taken from other films though,jimmy fallon & queen latifah make a good double act-fallon is so much like mike myers same kinda humour

I don't know who talked Queen Latifah into doing this movie, but they need to be "strung up from the highest tree". And if she chose to do it on her own, counseling is MANDATORY!
