    Teaching Mrs. Tingle is never really funny enough, thrilling enough or even consistent to be considered a great success. It is however a damn entertaining ride. Mi...( read more)rren is absolutely fantastic as a supposed victim who is incredibly deceptive and manipulative. She's scene stealing and a great villain. The film fails due to the sudden escalation of events and I'm not talking about the hostage scenario. It turns from Holmes wishing to explain she wasn't going to cheat to her actually cheating and changing her grades. This would be okay if there was some punishment or at least a deeper exploration into the consequences. The ending is far too light as well, a more tragic ending would have worked out so much better for the film as a whole. Still a fun watch, especially for those oppressed students.

    Leanne is in a dire situation when she needs to be valedictorian to get her scholarship to Harvard. The only class she is worse in is history, taught by Mrs. Tingle, and the teacher hates her. When an attempt to get ahead in Mrs. Tingle's class goes awry, mayhem ensues and friendships, loyalties and trust are tested by the teacher's intricate mind-games.

    "Teaching Mrs. Tingle" may not be one of the greatest movies to grace the big screen, but it is not the worst either.

    The movie is a fantasy/revenge story, yet a real world scenario, at its core. We've all had a person like Mrs. Tingle (teacher or not) that seemed like that their sole purpose in life was to make our lives miserable as possible. This movie explores the option of what could happen if we took the opportunity to get back at that person.

    Provides laughs and some scorching lines from Mirren. It's a dark comedy which you will enjoy if you want a fun movie.

    While this movie is not without its flaws, (acting has shallow points at times, the pop-culture references that are becoming cliches of their own, etc) this film is quite warm and comical...that is if you are not looking for the best picture of the year or something deep and turbulent.

    Kids capture their hated schoolteacher Mrs. Tingle (Helen Mirren). There's some good interaction once Mrs. Tingle is tied to a bed and they can reason with her; she isn't such a monster after all - or is she only pretending? The movie mostly takes place in one house. There are a ...( read more)few twists and tricks before the movie is over. Enjoyable to watch once, but not a keeper.

    I have always like this movie, I guess for the simple reason is - how many times have you thought about doing this to a teacher that has gotten on your nerves!

    A good enough film. Helen Mirren does a star turn as the really mean teacher who seems to hate being a teacher and pulls off being quite manipulative down to a tee. Not a great film but one of my favourites of Katie Holmes' to watch.
