Noted mathematician Perci Trachtenberg (Kingsley) is trying his luck in a London casino when he crosses paths with reclusive Indian numbers wizard Venkat (Bachchan). When Venkat reveals that he has recently stumbled upon an equation that could revolutionize our current concepts of randomness and probability, his ambitious colleague Shantanu (Madhavan) encourages him to try and crack the code of Teen Patti, a popular poker game played by millions of gamblers across India. Before long, Venkat and a few of his best students are raking in the cash, and drawing unwanted attention. By the time he realizes his greed has taken over, Venkat's moral fiber has already eroded.
