The best part of the video game Tekken has always been an animated prelude that sets the stage before you start drop-kicking your opponent's head. So it seemed natural to extend it into a movi...( read more  read more... )e, brought to life with artful anime illustration and an alt-rock soundtrack. All of your favorite Tekken characters are here as they battle their way through each other to win the Iron Fist tournament, where fighters of unequaled strength from around the world gather to test their strength in the gladitorial arena. Of course, intrigue and danger abound, with professional assassins, champions of justice, and those whose prowess earns them fear and respect facing off. Also, many opponents have deadly hidden agendas. Watching this film is perhaps not as visceral as actually executing a flying face-smash on your own, but an anime thrill nonetheless. --Tod Nelson

Well the film does manage to have a complex story. Complex and utterly fucking stupid. Some guy is thrown off a cliff and sells his soul to the devil, there's a generic fighting tournament on some island where there are invisible dinosaurs and boxing kangaroos. There's also some ...( read more)sister rivalry and a robot trying to save a little girls life. All this in 60 mins...yes I did say invisible dinosaurs. It's too much to take in for non fans and not long enough for actual fans of Tekken. King and Armor King are by far the coolest yet just stand in the background. The animation is mediocre and conforms top far to many anime cliches resulting in hilarious moments of parody. There's some interesting stuff here but there are enough plot strands to fill an entire television series and as such there is no time for the fighting we all came to see.

Not a good adaptation of one of my favorite game franchises. You cant just focus of the Mishima's story arc and not bring in the other supporting characters. And the voice acting was horrible. Hope they don't screw up the live action like they did with Dragonball.

I am sorry but this movie was crap. I am Tekken fan and this movie couldn't been more better. I heard that they making a Tekken movie, I hope that movie turns out good. Lets hope it doesn't turn out like that street fighter movie.

In the Tekken movie, Doesn't Kazuya looks like Vegeta from Dragonballz? Hmmm
