A debt collector offers Fumiya an opportunity to erase his debt: walk with him around Tokyo. What we get is a road movie, a very funny road movie, where the unlikely duo walk instead of drive. There's eventual male bonding, marvelous footage of Tokyo, and a smorgasbord of odd cha...( read more)racters and situations along the way. Very enjoyable.

Charming unpredictable film that does things right and makes you care about the characters. It's the type of movie suckers like Wes Anderson have been trying to make. Great cast, great direction, the story never feels forced or out of track. In all fronts a fantastic movie.

This is a beautiful little film - about a guy who owes 800000 yen to an older mob guy. To pay his debt, the older man asks the guy to join him for a walk through Tokyo. During the film they walk around, talk about life, family, love, growing older, meet an interesting mix of peop...( read more)le - and basically nothing specific happens. But the story behind the story unfolds little by little, when you see how the guy, who's lost his father at the age of 3, finds a father figure in the mobster, and learns a thing or two about life. Beautiful film where you very often just forget you are watching a film, and enjoy the two people talking.

Adrit in Tokyo - Satoshi Miki 4/5

Visionné dans le cadre du festival Fantasia 2008.

    - Accuracy of Death?
