Plot: A shape-shifting cyborg is sent back from the future to kill John Connor before he can grow up to lead the resistance; a protector is sent, too.
This is a great movie. One of the best sci-fi action films out there. My favorite of the Terminator series.
An excellent sequal to The Terminator. The story: A shape-shifting cyborg is sent back from the future to kill John Connor before he can grow up to lead the resistance; a protector is sent, too. I personally think that this is the best Terminator film out of the series so far. An outstanding performance by Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator). Should of had more action scenes in it than talking scenes. One of the best films of the year 1991 and one of the best action films of the 1990's. The truck fight was good. A gory scene when a cyborg sticks a blade through the man mouth when he was having a drink of milk. If you liked the first Terminator film, then you will definetly like this one.
Never really been a big Terminator fan but now that Bale is doing the new trilagy i'll probably buy the old ones and watch them.
Plot solid, character development strong, techniques excellent., Arnold is the terminator and plays the role fantastically any Arny fan will like this movie and i certainly recommend it to all those action junkies at there. Warning tho, the ending is very cliched.
YES! T2 set the standards for BAD-ASSNESS in the 90s. Sprinkled in some GunsNRoses and you got a blockbuster humans and cyborgs rejoice for in harmony!
There's one thing Terminator 2: Judgement Day has that a lot of other movies struggle to create; A unique, gripping atmospheric world. The cinematography, design, script, lighting, locations, and sound all come together to create a very real, terrifying world.
Schwarzenegger plays the perfect terminator, and Robert Patrick is the perfect, fast, sharp featured counterpart. All performances are great and interact with each other perfectly. Characters are memorable, whether it be for our love of them, admiration of them, or our fear of them.
The special effects are incredible considering the time of the movies release, and they help magnify the stunning performances and story.
The story, as can be expected from a sequel to The Terminator, is brilliant. It brings forward a lot of messages about what is right and wrong, killing, fate, and of course technology. What truly stands out for me is the emotional connection between John and the terminator, and the terminators' journey to understand emotion and moral choices. This section of the story makes for a truly great, memorable, emotional ending following the brilliantly tense, terrifying and action packed climax.
If you liked the first terminator, you will most likely love this movie; definitely make sure you get to see it. It surpasses and compliments its' predecessor in every way, delivering a gritty, terrifying view of the future, acted, written, directed and shot perfectly. Built in also are all the great features and set pieces of a pure entertainment action flick, with plenty of guns, explosions, vehicles and edge-of-your seat chases. I would recommend this movie to anyone, fan or not. (Some parts not for the squeamish.)
Amazing. People rag on Edward Furlong, but I really don't see even him as being a weak point in this film. It's the quintessential 90s action movie, and I'll still stop and watch it, regardless of how far a long it is, any time it pops up on cable TV. I wish the franchise had ended with this high point.
This would have been a good end to the series. The 3rd one sought of ruined the idea of a "good" ending.
The best sci-fi movie of all-time!Arnold proves again (terminator,Conan the barbarian, predator, total recall etc.)why he is considered to be the one and only "King of Action films"!!!
I'm seeing this series backwards, which is awkward but I think - suprisingly that this series is actually pretty consistent.
Acting wasn't as good overall as last time, but here there were great moments between the Terminator and John but there were a couple of awkward ones as well.
I don't think the chase scenes were as good though, overly long, and the special effects weren't as good but I suppose thats because this one was earlier.
What I liked with Terminator was the interaction between Terminator and child, its was so endearing to watch the robot learn human emotions.
Overall, yeah pretty consistent.
One otf the first sequals to be better than the first Lved this movie the feel the end all! Linda Hamilton shocked us all the way she dedicated herself to her role!
Esta super emocionante en todos los aspectos y ningunas de las que le suguio (incluyendo la serie) no han podido ser mejor que esta
One-Sentence Review:
"A Blazing sequel that terminates it's first in every level"
("The future has not been set, there is no fate but what we make for ourselves")
I don't know if I can count on both hands how many times I watched this movie. . . I'll be back. . . to let you know when I remember. . . LOL
OMG... one of my favorite sequels. Its rare the 2nd is better thant the first. I'd love to watch this again right now.
By all accounts this is the one to see if you can only see one of the T movies. The look on Sara Connor's face when she sees the monster of her nightmares and then has to deal with the fact that it here to protect her son from an even more lethal version. The engineer who must deal with the realization that his work might mean the end of humanity. The tearful scene at the end at the T lowers himself into the molten metal to make sure that no one will use his technology for evil while the boy mourns the loss of the robot who'd become his surrogate father. A classic!
like someone let a manic, doom-prophesying hobo write the screenplay for this one. "the world's gonna end! and there will be robots that look like people fighting! and one of them will be made out of liquid METAL!!!"
good cinematography and direction along with a kick-ass linda hamilton performance save this one.
This set the stage for special effects just like Star Wars did back in the day. I like the story but T3 is still my favorite.
I shut the movie off as soon as Schwarzenegger is poured into the molten steel. Sarah Conner's speech at the end is so f-ing tedious and needless.
James Cameron returns to helm the sequel to his first Terminator, this time sending Arnold to defend John Conner, the boy who would one day save the future.
This is the best of the 3 terminator movies. I guess we like Arnie more as the good guy. Terminator 4 was said to be released in 2009

There are not enough words to describe just how much I love this movie, and dammit, none of them are strong enough to convey the sheer intensity of awesomeness that this film produces. This is the one that got me into movies. It's better than anything Spielberg or Lucas ever dreamed up- better even than anything else Cameron himself has ever done. It is the apex of cinema- the pinnacle of storytelling, of action and effects, of drama and suspense. The only way I can truly sum this one up is in one word: Perfect.
Eat it, Citizen Kane.
This movie to me was way better than the first Terminator. I loved the fact that it was action packed and at the same time told a story. This film itself had a great cast of characters and not a hard to follow plot which always makes the movie better. I would def recommend this movie for everyone to see.
I agreee with prodriguezuk, I love this movie, I saw it when I was a kid and have been loving it since then. they don't make movies like before, I'm watching it as I type this. Gawd I love this movie
Some one does need to create a skin for this movie, I would sell my own mother to be able to lose my memories of watching it before so that I could see it again for the first time and not know from the get go that Arnie is the good guy. The first time I realised Robert Patrick was the bad guy I got more excited than a middle aged woman at a chip'n'dales gig.
Everything about this movie is awesome, the way the Terminator just keeps coming no matter what the fuck they do to it chills me to the bone!
i love this movie! its soooo good! better than the 1st and wayyy better than the 3rd!
wow!the 1st 1 was ok,but this is perfect.action films can't get better.great plot, great acting, brilliant action and the whole bad guy/good guy thing with the termianator is cool.
