Adam Hendershott, Andrew Kavovit, Beau Billingslea

The Martin family is forced to face their deep-seated problems when daughter Deena (Hilary Swank) grows increasingly violent, finally lashing out and attacking her parents (Joanna Kerns and Dan Lauria...( read more  read more... )). After the teen is shipped off to stay with her aunt (Kathleen Wilhoite) as a last-resort measure, Deena and her relatives must find their way back to peace. But the journey is difficult, requiring painful honesty and unflinching self-reflection.

    Aside from the really cheesy title this movie was surprisingly good mainly because Swank is shockingly believable as the emotionally disturbed teenager who starts lashing out towards her parents. Sadly, the rest of the cast can hardly keep up mainly because they are so 2D it woul...( read more)d have been more complete if Lange played the mother as this actress doesn't rouse sympathy at all.
