I'll admit that it;s been awhile since I saw this, but it was a light hearted (and horribly dated) romp through the disco era. Basically a look at the comings and goings at a disco. Disco queen Donna Summers is featured as a local gal trying to get a break and sing a song at th...( read more)

Certainly one of the worst movies to ever win an Oscar. Juvenile, silly and very shallow. Rarely funny with exaggerated characters. Very dated now to boot, but even in 1978 it stunk.

February 19, 2008The motion picture debut of the QUEEN OF DISCO
Donna Summer and the acting in this film was atrocious. Interesting to note...this film launched the careers of Jeff Goldblum and also an Oscar winning actress Debra Winger.
But the music itself saves this film and it was no wonder the film won the Oscar in 1978 for Best Original Song "Last Dance" sung by Donna Summer. Oh yeah, this also has the great Lionel Richie and the Commondores in this too.
