Tom Wallace is gone, the unfortunate victim of too much fame and too many drugs. In the wake of Tom's tragic death, his bandmate Elliot ducks out of the limelight, purchases a virtual pharmacy, and hires an unassuming grocery clerk (David Emrich) to drive him to Tom's father's home in Joplin, Missouri. Before he died, Tom scribbled one last note to his dad on a Post-it note, and now Elliot has made it his mission to hand-deliver that message to the man who holds him personally responsible for his son's untimely death. Later, after picking up a hitchhiking student from Ireland (Eve Hewson) who recognizes Elliot but doesn't let on that she knows who he is, the trio encounters an eccentric homeless man (Jimmy Hager) as they forge ahead toward New York City. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Though consistently maintaining a wryly observed interaction between the motley, convertible-bound threesome, the pic fails to get much mileage out of encounters along the way.
