"9 have killed you, 9 shall die, 9 eternities of DOOOOOM". Absolutely love the over the top acting by Vincent Price in this film. A clever revenge plot fueled by the love of his dead wife. Easily one of my favorite Vinny P movies.

Locusts eat a persons face off. That's 3 stars right there! Another half a star because he had a band made of robots.

One of Vincent Price's best, The Abominable Dr. Phibes is a strange and entertaining film. The story is fantastic, backed by fabulous performances and beautiful atmosphere. A great movie, very much recommended.

Even if it had some bizarre parts in it, it held my interest throughout the entire film. Vincent Price is always able to portray the villain because he does it so well. I also loved watching a 66 year old, Joseph Cotten in the film as well.

Horror Not to Miss List Commentary:
Vincent Price, in glorious color with an AMAZING primary set, plays an ingenious serial killer who kills his victims in odd ways, the scenes of which are still innovative and original in today's market. The film also holds onto Prince's signature Gothic horror themes with the character of Phibes and his lair. A vastly underrated Price movie, and a hugely underseen horror classic.

Now this is quite the campy little gem, Dr. Phibes is quite pissy and takes revenge on a bunch of other doctors that he blames for the death of his wife during an operation...or is it even him? The deaths are lamely done but in some fun ways using mainly animals and the whole darned thing is so garish and strange that it's hard to stay away from. It really is more of a comedy than a horror movie though so some fans of guts and gore will obviously not want to touch this one.

It's at least bizarre enough and Vincent makes it worthwhile but I've not really seen anything like it, it's almost like Russ Meyer designed the sets or something! There is even a sequel to this one that I haven't watched yet, but this was entertaining and ridiculous enough that I'd give it a try too!

Bloody good black comedy with the heavyweights Vincent Price and Joseph Cotten. Dr. Anton Phibes seeks revenge against the surgeons that, according to him, were responsible of the death of his beautiful wife, played by the graceful Caroline Munro. great art deco sets and overall camp feeling.

I only like this because I remember watching it with my dad as a kid. It was scary then, more funny now. The fiendish vampire bats are actually fruit bats, and some of the killer rats appear to be asleep. But, Vincent Price does play his part well...

Vincent Price is at his fiendish best as a deranged organist seeking revenge on those he holds responsible for his wife's death. Taking his inspiration from Biblical plagues, the murder scenes are inventive and well-staged.

Vincent price is the ultimate horror actor as far as I'm concerned. Dr Phibes is the greatest deranged character. Put the two together and this film goes straight to the top of the list of bizarre. There are two tales about the good Dr -see them both!

I loved the trailer for this which said it would probably be the most terrifying film I will ever see... that it definately isn't, but it was fun to see all the ingenius murders taken from Biblical stories... not sure what the Unicorn death was supposed to signify though

Romance and horror. Bereived mad scientist exacts revenge on those who he considers did not save his wofe's life on the operating theater. Very satisfying movie, although a little incredible, that people would not wake up when covered with slime... I own the original poster... and now the DVD (eBay).

Great, campy fun. Gruesome deaths (including a great new reason to hate brussel sprouts), tongue-in-cheek dialogue, and Vincent Price and Joe Cotten. Dr. Phibes is the original Jigsaw (of the "Saw" flicks), with a lot more flair. I doubt you're ever going to see death by unicorn in any other horror flick.

This is a fantastic movie! It's got a great sense of humor and fantastic performances from all concerned. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that Dr. Phibes' injuries prevent him from actually speaking. That means Vincent Price's performance is much more restrained than we're used to seeing him. However, even as a mute villain, he still manages to ham it up! Awesome!

Vincent Price is the man. If ever this should be doubted, then just watch this delightful dark comedy. Several doctors in 1920s London have been found dead under mysterious circumstances. When Scotland Yard investigates, they find that all the deceased doctors worked on on case together--a surgery that failed to save the life of Victoria Phibes. Her husband, Dr. Anton Phibes, is immediately assumed to be the suspect, except that he died in a fiery car crash on his way to see his ailing wife. However, Dr. Phibes is not dead, although he's not quite "alive" either, and is using the Old Testament's plagues of Egypt as his inspiration for some truly elaborate murders. The best of which involves a brass unicorn head and a catapult. This film has a delightfully twisted sense of humor and it shows in every scene. Consider, for instance, the fact that all Phibes's victims are innocent people who merely failed to save his wife's life--but the audience finds themselves rooting for Phibes anyway! That Vincent Price in this role rather resembles a homocidal Captain Kangaroo just adds to the fun. If you enjoy dark comedies and are a fan of Vincent Price, this is required viewing.

An absolutely brilliant movie. As funny as any Carry On film, and as dark as any other horror, this macabre and twisted tale is one of Prices' best! The direction is flawless, the humour so dark, and the performances are top notch: This is umissable for ALL horror fans!

Vincent Price stars in a creative, wicked, and perverse horror film set during the Roaring Twenties, in which an evil genius seeks vengeance against the doctors who killed his wife.

Not scary at all but an imaginative story and definitely worth a watch. Very British filmmaking with a very British cast... apart from Vincent Price that is.

My all-time favorite Vincent Price flick!! Price is so fun to watch as the diabolical Dr. Phibes determined to get his revenge against the doctors that let his beloved wife die; using the ten biblical plagues of Egypt and having a blast doing so. A truly fun horror classic!!

A very good horror movie starring the geat Vincent Price. Price stars as Dr. Anton Phibes who seeks revenge on the nine docters he believes were responsible for his wife's death by dealing with them in ways representing the nine Biblical plagues involving bats, bees etc. Vincent Price is excellent at being charming and ruthlessly violent. I recommend fans of Vincent Price, horror fans and film fans to all give this film a try. David N
