Right, for a start, I liked it. It was funny, It was farcical; Michael Caine and Dylan Moran threw themselves into their roles with such obvious glee, that I found it impossible not to be swayed by this film despite its many obvious flaws. The musical score just didn't seem appropriate; a number of the scenes appeared irrelevant and a little clunky; it just is not perfectly crafted and does appear cobbled together at times. But, and its a big but, its just funny. It just is - Michael Caine is wonderful as the neverhasbeen, entirely self absorbed O'Malley. While Moran handles his (definately more challenging) role with an almost nonchalent ease - a superb actor and one to watch in the future me thinks. In summary, and despite its flaws, if you don't laugh at this nice little film then your a bigger cynic than me - and you have my pity!

A manic comedy, with it's fair share of comical moments. I think it's the type of film people will enjoy only if they are fans of Dermot Moran, as he is most definitely the star of the show.
It's easy watching, quite comical and a fairly original idea -

I have to say I've seen better Michael Caine films and this one is pretty easy to forget but it did have some pretty funny moments, especially with Dylan Moran in a whellchair incident if my memory serves correct.

A completely ridiculous plot, with a very obnoxious Micheal Caine. Dylan Moran steals the show - and the charming soundtrack evidently makes it all the more lovely. A fun, not exactly perfect movie treat you should love if you have a sense of humour.

Not something i would usually be interested in. On the whole the film was ok but Dylan Moran's performance was so enjoyable!

MCT:February 7, 2007A brilliant idea for a film, and the idea of irish thugs does make laugh. Some choice characters. But ruined by an incessant nature of swearing, why bother. Take a lesson from my favourite director, you can say a lot more by saying nothin at all!

I thought this was a rather good movie, it had some funny moments. But really the only reason i rented it was so i could see Dylan Moran in a movie. He is a brilliant commedian, this just wasnt that much of a memorable movie. Altho i luved it. Funny till the end!

classic film. dylan moran does a brilliant preformance. and even though he is irish, he manages to do a scottish accent, marvellous, definately worth seeing. good piece of comedy
