Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Certainly reeks like something produced from a squatting position."
‑ Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
"Frequently it becomes boring."
‑ Cody Clark, Mr. Showbiz
"While there's no doubt that The Animal will make you laugh, it's not the kind of laughter that outweighs the missing $10 in your pocket."
‑ Ben Vinegar, Film Threat
"Practically screams out, 'Tiresome!'"
‑ Dustin Putman, DustinPutman.com
"About the best you can say regarding this inoffensive Schneider vehicle is, hey, it could have been worse."
‑ Marc Savlov, Austin Chronicle
"The Animal is never more nor less than stupid, but stupid in ways that deliver goofiness rather than rampant humiliation."
‑ Robert Koehler, Variety
"It's just not funny."
‑ Mary Brennan, Film.com
"It's a great yawning void where Rob Schneider can hump a mail box and attempt to seduce a goat."
‑ Bob Westal, Film Threat
"If you want a giggle and are not too fussy, you could do much worse than surrendering to its shamelessly puerile brand of smutty schoolboy humour."
‑ Neil Smith, BBC.com
"The Animal is nowhere near as shockingly tasteless as it could be."
‑ Maitland McDonagh, Film Journal International
"Let's hear it for stupendously dumb screen writing."
‑ Wesley Morris, San Francisco Chronicle
"No classic but far less offensive than the witless dross like See Spot Run that kids have endured on their time off."
‑ Harry Guerin, RTE Interactive (Dublin, Ireland)
"There was one thing about The Animal that did surprise me: the extent to which it systematically rips off Wolf."
‑ Steven D. Greydanus, Decent Films Guide
"This could have and should have been a much funnier film."
‑ Robert Roten, Laramie Movie Scope
"The premise is a single-note joke that is hardly sturdy enough to support a 90-minute feature."
‑ Michael Dequina, TheMovieReport.com
