Juat a simple yet cute animatioon with some big-time voices lending to it. like the legend Meryl Streep which ofcourse you will recoginize her voice the moment..(this lady have a unique style in everything even Speaking!)..and julia roberts voice made the movie...some funny parts to it though...
cute little movie with some big-time voices lending to it. it is an alright movie to watch at least once...some funny parts to it though...the beetle and the glow worm were pretty funny
In the kingdom of the ants, few things are more frightening than the Destroyer, a giant that seems to exist only to wreak mass destruction on their home. This deadly force of nature is actually Lucas (Zach Tyler, The Backyardigans), a little boy being bullied by bigger kids in his neighborhood. Out of frustration, Lucas responds by attacking his front yard's ant hill with hoses, rocks, and kicks from his sneakers. The ants' resident wizard, Zoc (Nicolas Cage, The Rock), has a solution. He's created a powerful potion that shrinks Lucas down the ants' size. Now a captive of the ants, a frightened Lucas is brought before their queen (Meryl Streep, The Devil Wears Prada) for judgment. She decides that Lucas must live as one of them, to teach him a lesson. Lucas's instructor in the ways of antdom is the kind-hearted Hova (Julia Roberts, Closer), who has her work cut out for her, because none of the other ants want their "Destroyer" living with them. When a death-happy exterminator (Paul Giamatti, Sideways) arrives to rid the entire lawn of all insects, it's up to Lucas to save the day. The animation is, for the most part, as dazzling as we've come to expect with our computer-created treats; the character design is attractive and admirable, and the "cave art" scenes (in which Lucas is introduced to the ant colony's drawn history, which resembles ancient cave drawings) are pretty stunning. And on a storytelling level, Davis' knack for comic timing is on display, with a well played verbal or sight gag earning a few chuckles here and there.
a GREAT MOVIE FOR KIDS WHICH shows the true values of lif eot the kids in the wa they could understand. The climasx is very nice and the cave thing is what i never expected it is nice
A Pretty good little film, of course being a kids film it was scattered with "feel good" stories and of course the thing all kids movies spill out.
"Be yourself" and " Don't be so easily influenced by others"
I thought this film was pretty well done, I liked the choice of voice actors and the animations was really good.
I thought Bruce Campbell ruled (as per usual)
His character was really funny.
I think the best part is when the fire cracker blows up in the grass and they do a shot from far away and its a tiny explosion, so its quite comical to big people but a crisis to ants.
It was cute, light hearted and really well put together.
I don't know anyone else who has seen this movie but its quite funny. This kid is determined to bully the ants but they soon get the kid right back. You think of these little ants outside as a kid and wonder what goes on in the ground and here is a movie good for kids who wonder the same.
It's An Ok Animation Very Well Made With Famous Celebs As Charachters The Only Thing I Can Complain Is The Whole Story Cause They Added So Many Little Stories To Make It A Long Movie The Story Is To Short Itself But It's A Decent Movie To Watch
It could have been really cute, but then they added a bunch of potty talk and stuff...but parts of it were really funny! "Oh, you're so smart! Now I know why they call you peanut, because you have a brain the size of a PEANUT!!" It was really neat that Nicolas Cage was in it though!

Dis films GD. Even though theres ants in it (insects) it dont scare me...Its bare jokes and i would luv 2 c it from the beginnin cause i only saw the end part on sky.lol.
Lucas stands for what i was before the movie, and rokai is what i became after watching th movie. An inspiring tale about who is bigger and is abusing the fact that they are bigger. annoying but very much real. A good movie, nice balance of humor..the sweet rock was a nice touch !
''Fun and entertaining for pretty much everyone! It even kept Grandma entertained! '' Funny as!
Now i know there's alot of family animated films out there. I was amused by this offering though. A few of these animated films to do with ants, the plot here is its about a 10 year old boy called Lucas Nickle who is shrunk by some ants who are antagonised by him.
Julia Roberts does the voice for Hova who teaches Lucas.
Nicolas Cage does the voice for Zoc.
Bruce Campbell i instantly recognised his voice he voice-overs Fugax.
So many funny scenarios in this, its huge fun and delicious animation all shiny. The flying bugs reminded me of the aliens in Halo. Also reminded me of Honey, I shrunk the kids the whole shrinking aspect.
Nice family animated film for the kids and adults alike. Dont be put off by the ant Theme its got heart so its not just another clone.
See if you like two other ant animation movies i like, similar in subject matter and looks:
" I know why they call him peanut, it's because he has the brain the size of a peanut"! My kids love to repeat that line. i enjoyed watching this movie with them in the cinema.
