  The only reason I ended up watching this was because it was the only thing on Showtime. I'm actually thought it was fun and cute. Alex O'Loughlin is such a babe.. too bad his costar was Jennifer Lopez.

  I could totally pan this, but it would be way too easy. So first of all, the things I liked about it: the cute dog on wheels, the hilarious father of 3 in the park, Jlo's sharp tounged best friend. What I hated about it: everything else. First of all, stupid unrealistic story line. Yes, I realise this is always the case in a romantic comedy, but while it is just about possible to suspend belief that the pair met and fell in love so quickly, asking us to believe the guy sticks around while she is pregnant with twins to a sperm donor, while she is acting like a hormonal nightmare is idiotic. I am a woman, and I was cheering him on to ditch her ass. I am sure that is not what they were aiming for. Add to that the group birthing scene which belonged in a horror movie and you really do have to wonder how this one ever sounded like a good idea.

  Hilarious and sometimes ridiculous romantic-comedy about beautiful Jennifer Lopez as Zoe, who's biological clock is pounding and decides with her bad luck with men to go ahead with artificial insemination. This movie is funny, a bit touching, and a family tale about trusting the partner you love and accepting the things he or she does. Lopez and Alex O'Loughlin had good "couple chemistry" as the relationship developed. The dialogue is so childish full of pointless advices, lame flirting and the character development really sucks. This is the latest film of the late Tom Bosley from TV's <i>Happy Days</i>.

  It was better than I thought it was gonna be, it had some funny moments and J-Lo as always sexy hot. Pregnancy is no small deal is a huge deal LOL. In New York, the former executive and presently owner of a pet shop Zoe has no boy-friend and only a couple of friends since she has difficulties to let people into her life. She lost her parents when she was a child and her only relative alive is her grandmother that lives in a nursing home and Zoe feeling lonely. She decides on artificial insemination to have a baby and to join a supporting group of single mothers. When she leaves the clinic very happy with the successful procedure, she meets the cheese manufacturer and college student Stan and they immediately feel attracted for each other. They date and Zoe believes she has found the prince charming and changes her expectation with the insemination. However the doctor finds that she is pregnant and now she has a dilema; how to tell Stan that she is pregnant.

  I liked how the husbands were angry with the pillow and literally cursing it. That was hilarious. There were <i>some</i> funny moments that will make you laugh out loud. But one weird thing was when Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) fell <b>on</b> the cab's seat (as she couldn't get in), I mean she's pregnant right? Her belly was visible. I'm not into explaining more of this stuff but people who are experienced or know things about this will understand what I meant. It's not a spoof movie. So yeah. This is a good enjoyable movie. Does have some cheesy moments (but that's kinda bearable I guess).

  It was soooooooooooooooo cheesy... I was expecting something funny, but J Lo seemed to be trying too hard to be funny and cute and her friend was annoying as hell. Everything felt rushed and I didn't really see the chemistry between her and the boyfriend. Eh.

  It's nice to have Jennifer Lopez back on the big screen - delivering the lines and handling the slapstick with ease. Here's hoping she has a hit on her hands and doesn't need a back-up plan.

But the movie hasn't a clue as to what's funny. Every joke is painstakingly unfunny, and the insistence of the script, director, and producers that this film must be a romantic comedy is the ultimate shortfall.

  The Back-up Plan takes every pregnancy cliche in the history of human procreation, smashes it all together, then stirs in a loving does of romantic cliches delivering a predictable, dull, poor excuse of a film that doesn't even get a guffaw, let alone a full blown laugh. Damn, that's a long sentence. Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) is a busy, career minded gal who always finds faults with every man she meets. She wants a baby, Robert Klein does the deed artificially and BAM, we have a bun in the oven. But guess what happens on the way home from the procedure? Yep, she meets Mr. Right (Alex O'Loughlin) and they begin a relationship of disdain that soon turns into sex in a barn full of cheese. Hilarity ensues as she proceeds to eat everything, complain about her ass size, and he goes nuts. There's the obligatory break up and- well, you know the rest. There's no sense wasting anymore time one this, the movie is crap. No one in the film can act, especially our two wonderful leads. If either of them did anything that was either A) funny or B) involving I might have been interested, but this film is just a waste of film or information depending on how it was shot. This isn't even a very good date movie, so watch out guys you may get a back fire. When the funniest scene in the film involves a four year old holding cat shit you know we're screwed.

  Ok i'm going to be brief because this movie doesn't deverve my time and effort. The Backup plan tells the story of Zoe, after years of dating, she decided waiting for the right one is taking to long. determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan,makes an appoinment and decides to go it alone. The movie is corny, foolish and totally a boring chick flick. One hour and a half of pure suffering with a nonsense story, a very weak plot, dumb jokes and silly situations. The cast isn't bad but their performances are just awful. People should banned Jennifer Lopez to act, seriously its a shame to see her in any movie. Alex O'Loughlin is better but not enough to save a movie and the rest well they didn't deserve a mention. In conclusion, The Backup Plan is a total waste of time and money. Just Avoid it its not worthy.

Lopez while no great actress has a amiable screen presence and she is well matched with Alex O'Loughlin who has many charms as a leading man. The supporting cast while given little to do is capable. Of particular note is Melissa McCarthy as the leader of a single mommy group and old hands Tom Bosley and Linda Lavin.

"Have a Back Up plan this weekend, because seeing this movie should not be in your plans at all" Plotless story or must i saw imitation of the british "Maybe Baby" where one woman decideds to have a baby, but falls in love with a guy after already having the baby. Thats as far as the plot goes, nothing either than "we are have a baby?" the movie has no conflicts whatsoever therefore making it a piece of shit. Jennifer Lopez comeback, and you know what, she should have come back, she was horrible, really the beyond fail acting. What i hated most about this movie was that it was a "Celebrity" movie, it tells preety much J-Lo's story about having twins, bla bla bla. In general a shit movie, with no conflicts, bad acting, its the type of movie, you'll see on tv and watch 4 minutes of it because it may seem somehow interesting, but after those 4 minutes, youll be changin. Its not comedy, its not romance, its a HBO movie/biography of jennifer lopez. Zoe: We both lied to each other.
