Based on a ture story & an intriguing one at that.
Good performances from the cast & a plot with enough twists to keep you guessing as to how it's all going to end.
Don't expect any hollywood style action - this is a British old school style heist movie and the story is dominated by scheming, mystery & corruption. Quite good - better than I thought.
After seeing the ridiculous, inane "Crank", I was a bit leery of Jason Statham, but boy was I wrong. The Bank Job delivers on the goods! This is an extremely entertaining, action packed thriller with enough twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat until the credits rolled. Highly recommended!
The Bank Job is based on a true story, so of course it had alot to live up to. I found it a little dull and slow paced at first, but the intensity and suspense began to build, and the plot became more substantially good. Jason Statham is getting better and better with every film he is in. This was a decent heist film, with good acting and a well scripted and crafted plot. It lacked all the intensity of a truely brilliant action/thriller, but it was a fine watch for anyone who enjoys the story of a robbery.
Boring, lame, and tries too hard to be stylish. I had troubel staying interested in this waste of film. Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels are way better than this badly made film.
Absolutely amazing movie. Just watch it on Blu-Ray, this movie really delivered everything that exceed my expectation. The setting was in the 80's and this movie delivered that in style together with marvelous cinematography throughout the movie, thanks to Roger Donaldson great directing. The story was good, the acting from all cast was great as well, however they would never exceed the beauty of the setting and the cinematography of this movie. It's almost 2 hours movie, but I guarantee you that you wouldn't get bored, not one bit. Surely, I would watch it again in this few days, especially in Blu-ray, I couldn't resist it.
This movie is based on a true story and oddly enough, turns out to be somewhat of a "feel good" movie. I found it very entertaining, but there are two major flaws: One is that all of the characters are English and if you are unfamiliar with cockney slang you may want to turn your subtitles on. Two, is that you never really get the sense that anyone is truly in danger..............but of course they are.
Sure footed pace, and well scripted, this movie kept me watching right to the end. A few squirmish moments, which is why it loses a point, otherwise a brilliant action/drama. Jason Statham shines as the petty crim railroaded into doing a bank job which is bankrolled by the secret service. Excellent!!
Quite a good little film - the story is intriguing enough all by itself, but it's been enhanced by clever craftmanship here. Clever script, great cast, nice balance of action and drama, well shot - all round a good way to spend a few hours.
I guess I'm just not that big of a Jason Statham fan because I am definately hit and miss with him. I love some of the movies he is in. Then there are films that are ok and then there are the ones that I feel are plain awful. This is one of those ok movies. It does enough to entertain you but that's about it.
More recently, I have found myself captivated by biographies, and real life accounts of events. The Bank Job is a film that really helped to fuel this interest. I actually found the first 30-40 minutes of the film to be really slow and dulll; however, the last half of the movie was fast paced, action packed, and knowing that it is based on real events made it even more fun and interesting to watch! Jason Statham's tough, rough, yet laid back personality and delivery is always a joy to watch. He played the part well! I really enjoyed this film!
Not a bad movie at all, Donīt like most of Jasons films, but this is your best film. planning wasn't very ingenious. Bad edition and starts a bit slow.
This was much better than I expected. It starts a bit slow but that's necessary for the plot as there are so many characters involved. Once the plans for the robbery start the pace picks up and it's riveting viewing until the end.
Decent movie following a bank heist that attracts the wrong people's attention. Starts slow before getting going. OK movie that was interesting to me because of the "based on a true story" angle and the depiction of 70's London.
it was just average, plus it randomly goes from action with tits to Saw (the movie) and then turns into a how are we gonna get out of this. It's just eh
