This will probably be remade or ripped off. The idea is that good. A whodunit w/ a monster.

Fairly bad Agatha Christie with a werewolf twist

Possibly the most disappointing Amicus film ever. For years, I blamed Hammer for this travesty mainly due to Peter Cushing's presence. He's made to look like a complete pillock here though with long diatribes about what makes someone a werewolf which will have you laughing at the...( read more) ridiculousness of it all.
The alternative title gives away the identity of the werewolf right from the beginning and for a film which relies on "Guess the identity of the werewolf" for the plot, that's a big mistake.

Oh Yeah, absolute Cushing classic. And the beasty is great too.

Offbeat story and 70s flavor makes this one a winner.

First movie that I saw with Calvin Lockhart. I was impressed to know that a Bahamian was the lead actor in this movie. I was even more impressed with the level of his acting. I just feel that he is due more way more recognition than he has been given.
Calvin Lockhart provded for...( read more) this movie, an important link to the blaxploitation phenomenon that was very popular at the time.

It's an almost unbearable corny movie set to the music from the 70s that just doesn't work. Yet it's a cool idea, giving you clues, red herrings, suspects, and the chance to solve the mystery is a neat aspect. However the movie drops the ball a lot. The werewolf is just a dog, no...( read more) fancy Lon Chaney effects. The night time lighting is terrible and you can't see what is going on, because the werewolf's fur is black! Still good acting from Cushing, Clark, Chadbon, and the rest, so it is worth watching if your an old school horror fan and you want to see an interesting take on the werewolf genre.

"One of these eight people will turn into a werewolf. Can you guess who it is when we stop the film for the WEREWOLF BREAK? See it ... solve it ... but don't tell!"

Can you guess who is the werewolf or werewolves? Full of camp and red herrings

It's curious that a couple of guys on here say that the alternative title gives the game away. If they are referring to 'Black Werewolf' then I can only presume they didn't watch the film to the end cus, yes there is a 'black' werewolf in the story, but, as with the title, this turns out to be only a very big red herring! It's not the real killer that is revealed at the end.
