Fran Drescher everyones favavourite tv nanny makes her bigscreen debut that spoofs the Sound of Music,The King and I and Beauty and the Beast also starring flop Bond Timothy Dalton in a brilliant role this time..as the ruler of the country ,brilliant but only if you are a Fran fan like me..

If you are going to take a name from a movie and make a play on words then make sure the moie is worth it.

Watching this film isn't a life-changing experience, but it's not a waste of time either. The story is a mix between "beauty and the beast" and "sound of music" , and that works for me.

This is actually good, i saw this by sheer accident and i loved it a cheesy funny but totally warm fuzzy film that embodies some of the base story of beauty & the beast, and has all those hallmark card moments you expect and want.

i like this movie fran drescher rocks. if you like watching fran as the nanny. you will like this movie! this is one funny movie to add to your List!
-
not the greatest movie but its ok. fran drescher plays the part well and the dad's makeover is a good one.

This is extremely lighthearted and very unrealistic, but a neat movie to watch when you're not looking for depth. Fran Drescher plays a sort of rendition of her role in TV's "The Nanny", but this time it's in the land of fictional "Slovetzia". Fran Drescher's character's whole positive, magnetic personality contrasts with and ultimately changes a grumpy, somewhat tyrannical emperor (Timothy Dalton is great.) for the good of his family and country. It's mostly a cheesy romantic comedy, with certain relationships failing to build properly towards the end, but what it lacks for in depth, it makes up for in cheap entertainment. I really enjoyed it.

Oh my GOSH, Fran Drescher is A-NNOYING!!!!!!!! (but I was in a stage version of this in 7th grade, so I have some good memories of the story... :P LOL!)
-
I can't believe I actually watched this (it was free, and I worked at a movie theatre) -- I think it was one of those where you know that it'll be bad, but you just wanna see HOW bad.
-
Guilty pleasureeeeee!!! hahaha another one!! I should HATE this movie, everyone probably thinks this is horrible! hahaha and it probably is but...I LOVE IT!! Besides it has a especial meaning to me, it brings back a lot of memories from my childhood. Besides, as annoying as she can be, Fran Drescher is always fabulous!!

I watched way more episodes of The Nanny than I ever cared to see in my life. If the review is true, avoid this film like the plague!

I'm not a Fran Drescher fan, but for some reason this movie beyond my own understanding, I can't help but like to watch.
Maybe, its Tim. Dalton..no...who cares!? Its hilarious!! -
I had no idea that was the title of this in English. I like this one. A lot. I know it's cheesy and unoriginal, but I could watch it over and over out of love for Fran Drescher.
-
lol even though her voice is annoying, i love this movie...not enough to add to my fav. movies, but enough to watch whenever its on

Things I'm reminded of thanks to this movie:
* Growing up, I used to watch The Nanny on mute and jerk off repeatedly because Fran Drescher is fucking hot. Maybe this movie IS worth renting. -
Apart from It's Fran Drescher, who has the most irritating voice in the world, it's a fairtale storey. She's falls in love with the miserable king, who slowley turns him around into a good guy. Not too bad of a film.

Pretty entertaining. Descher is just the perfect one for this role because she has the sparks to pull it off.

Beauty-school teacher Joy Miller is whisked out of Queens and deposited in Eastern Europe after she is mistaken for a science teacher. Boris Pochenko is the gruff and stilted president for life she tames with mousse and kindness. Fran Drescher, with that inimitable voice and colorful clothing, is very funny. It is not a far stretch to compare her favorably with Lucille Ball. Timothy Dalton is in rare form in the role of the beast. Great movie if your looking for a no brainer comedy

funny movie about a beautician teacher who is mistaken for a real teacher. A king from an Eastern European country mistakes Fran for a real teacher and offers her a job to teach his three kids. She teaches the kids about life and also befriends the local peasants which disturbs the king.
-
Simply alluring? I wish to be like her... a sexy witchy boopy fran.... the movie makes my day!!! it's so light and very comical... I like her personality and itss so soo sooo like meee
-
Strictly for Fran fans. You know the story and how it ends, but it's better with nasal commentary. And Timothy Dalton's grunts and growls are somehow charming.
-
"I'd rather watch Beautician and the Beast. I would rather listen to Fran Drescher than listen to Michael McDonald anymore."
-
Imagine sound of music, only Captain von Trapp is Stalin and Maria is a New York beautician - how can you not love it from that description!?
-
Outside of Bond, Dalton isn't a very good actor, and when you add the annoying Dreshcer, it's downright torture.
