People who go to movie theaters for a history lesson should be sterilized for the greater good of the species. If you want history, do some research. The film didn't suck because it wasn't a factual account of the Dahlia murder and subsequent investigation, it sucked because it was poorly written, needlessly convoluted, at times horribly acted, misidrected and ultimately nonesensical. Tremendous disappointment, even for a DePalma film.

A middle class B-movie. De Palma has better works than this.

hard to follow but it all came out in the end. i found it a little slow, but that was ok. the images were a little sickening, all of the images and you know what im talking about. it took me a few minutes to get it but i finally got it. i enjoyed this movie very much and will watch it again and recomemd it to my friends.

    PUUHHH-lease, people!

The body scene was gross because it was true.
They were actually trying to show you how gruesome the body was.

It was severed in half, her breasts were cut, her face was slit from ear to ear.

How else do you imagine a murder such as this?
    Beautiful?
    I think not!

And by book, people, there are more than one out and if you are talking about James Ellroy's book..get a life!

If you want facts, read about the REAL EVENTS that occured.

This movie holds nothing compared to the actual events.
Scarlett was a wrong actress to play in the movie.
Hilary stands nothing to the real beauty of Elizabeth Short, and by the way..
Elizabeth never made a film like that.
    It was JUST A RUMOR.

This is why I hate this movie.
There wasn't but like two or more things that actually fit into the real events, but actually..the murder was never solved. Every one knows that, but still..this movie didn't follow a good author on the book that they based it off of.

Um actually British English...in my humble opinion...yes, it was A BAD MOVIE. And hard to follow as well.

Mulholland Drive was hard to follow. So was A Space Odyssey. Yet, their screenwriters and mostly, directors, were able to sustain a pace and atmosphere throughout the movie that made them good movies also.

I can't wait to read the novel...I want to find out if it was a failure by the screenwriters, or if the novel is simply overrated.

Bad movie...no more than two out of five stars.

(Josh and Scarlett for marriage! Challenge Brangelina :P)

Very Boring beginning, picked up a little at the end. Would NEVER see it again and would not recommend it. It could be rated G (with the exception of some "Offensive" language)
