The original is one of my all time favourite films. I love it so much. From the bizarre opening theme tune to Steven McQueen a) being called Steven and b) trying to play a teenager. It was pure genius. This remake is a surprisingly fantastic and brutal film. Sure it leaves behind...( read more)

On the fence here...I haven't seen the original so I can only judge this remake, but this movie in itself, as I have read, has come under heavy negative critisism due to the movie's changes from the original, most notably being the Blob's new origin as a government experiment gon...( read more)

Small town teens battle the titular goo. With action, good special effects and the minimal characterization we expect from monster movies, it?s at least as entertaining as the overrated original.

Besides the just above average acting this is no more a gore fest than Edward Scissorhands. It's a comic movie, without trying to be. Shawnee Smith did a good job, but the movie itself was a discredit to the original "Blob". Each death is less than scary and makes you unnerved on...( read more)

A different approach than the original in that there is no unbelievers. Also, if the original was a subtle commentary on the expansion of military weaponry, this one was an overt one as the ?blob? here was the direct result of chemical weapons development. Also, the commentary on...( read more)
