Denzel Washington is extremely sexy as a quadriplegic homicide detective Lincoln Rhyme. Angelina Jolie shows her intuitive but sensitive sides as Amelia Donaghy, Rhyme's eyes, ears, and hands at the crime scenes. Queen Latifah plays Thelma Rhyme's loyal nurse. Great murder mystery movie with a great cast.

MCT:August 6, 2008Noyce is definitely better compared to some of his own films like the Saint..A tantalizing murder mystery thriller....where Rear Window meets Seven...an unfortunate attempt but with some great elements and a solid Denzel Washington.

Serial killer movies are always welcomed. They are exciting and fun to follow for the most time. This movie had some great moments with the talent Denzel W and Angelina Jolie as the detectives. Story was good and pretty nice thriller scenes but could have been more scary if i must say some negative about it. Overall a well worth seeing flick.

This movie was good, but then it was pretty intense in the psychological thriller kind of way. Ah heck, it was still good, but I could pass it up if given the chance. It is really good in one dose and only one dose.

wow i have just seen this 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good thriller movie....i think that denzel washington is suberp as the crippled cop throughout this movie..this has a good cast of actors/actressess throughout the movie...i think that the director of this : Mystery & Suspense movie had done a great job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this film because its so full of shocks, twists, turns throughout the movie,the director keeps you on the edge's of your seats throughout the movie oh n angelina jolie in a police uniform is sexxi....i think that ed ' o neil from the hit tv show married with childdren is great in this movie...this is a good thriller movie

After the claustraphobic, tension-filled opening scenes that have a truly disturbing quality to them, 'The Bone Collector' falls into the realm of the average thriller far too easily, employing almost every cliche in the book.
The star power of Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, who are both fantastic actors, help elevate many of the films lesser scenes, but Queen Latifah's role seems strangely pointless, and how Washington's character unravles various mysteries so swiftly leaves a lot to be questioned.
Unfortunately the great character dynamics between the two leads is wrapped up with a completely fictitious romance, and the killer's final identity doesn't have the impact or resonance the audience deserve, simply because his character wasn't established well enough in the first place.
The director does show-off an ability to build suspense through some quite innovative point-of-view shots, and the atmospheric score contains has an eerie appeal to really enhance the thriller elements of the picture. However, the script simply pushes these qualities to the background as the audience focus on glaring plot holes and a number of convoluted scenes that let down the enthusiastic direction.
Still, despite it's deeply conventional basis, 'The Bone Collector' manages to be an adequate addition to the detective-thriller genre, boasting enough scares to keep the adrenaline-hungry viewers happy, and an intriguing storyline for those who crave the mystery aspects of such a narrative. Just don't expect a refreshing and intelligent masterwork, because there is little new here, and the screenplay is largely at fault for it. -

I have to admit that I thought this was going to be much better. I mean is Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. He is absolutely fantastic and she is definitely, no questions asked, the best actress of our generation. Therefore, they both gave very good performances, impressive at best, him with his condition and her with her distant character. Luis Guzman, a fellow puertorrican, is always a treat to watch and he always delivers well. For the most part the plot was definitely catchy and well thought out. The direction was good. The corpses were nasty and that is always good in this type of movies. The given clues were subtle and smart. It all pointed to a great movie. But... Queen Latifah... always unable to pull her performance from her usual self, annoys me. I mean yes, she is believable and her character here was like-a-ble, but still, to see her doing the same thing she does eveytime she is on screen its definitely a shame. So that and the ending were the 2 factors that killed this for me. I mean that ending was kind of lame, the actual killer was so blegh! there was no fun on discovering it was him.

I loved the storyline, entertaining and it was well acted , keeping you guessing right to the end. Denzel plays his part especially well, that of an ex cop who had become paralysed on the job. Initially in the movie he felt that he wanted to end his life but came to find he had plenty to live for. Angelina played a cop who seemed to have lost her nerve. The story brought them together to work - an exciting mix of two powerful and experienced actors. Their pairing and the fantastic supporting cast that complimented them, really makes this movie work.

I love this thriller. I find pretty much any movie with Denzel Washington in it to be good. And it probably doesn't hurt to have Angelina Jolie & Queen Latifah in it either.

strange film.
I never really bought the paraplegic act that Denzel Washington put up, and Angelina Jolie was a bit stiff in some scenes.
In terms of plotting, The Bone Collector was condensed too much from book to screenplay to be all that impactive. Yet it wasn't all bad, and served some very surprising moments. and it was sad to see Queen Latifah get stabbed, i love her.

This movie has a nice choice of actors. The plot is commendable and is truely a disturbingly wicked one. However, the ending is not really as good as I expected it to be.
