But this time, instead of reanimating corp...( read more  read more... )ses, they've decided to create new life -- in the form of a beautiful companion (from spare body parts, of course) for Dr. West. Definitely &NFi;not&NFi_; a match made in heaven!

Not quite as good as the first but lots of gore and lots of fun. Couldn't help but feel sad for the bride though *sniff*

Just as quirky as its predecessor, and still a great deal of fun! Fans of the original will find nothing to complain about here, and it's easy to follow for newcomers. A worthy sequel!

It's a disappointing sequel to the original "Re-animator" because it really copies the "Bride of Frankenstein" storyline too much and still has nothing to do with H.P. Lovecraft's tale.
It's still quite good though because you get to see lots of Fabiana Udenio. She isn't much of...( read more) an actress but she's quite a babe.
With its larger budget, you can't fault the film for gore effects or humour either but it's just not as fresh...

I defy anyone to explain how the opening sequence fits into the chronology of events.

Actually closer to the HP Lovecraft story than the first.

Just as crazy and hilarious as the first, Jeffrey Combs is amazing. I love how he can come across as nuts, smart and funny all in one. The plot was really good, it kept you involved the entire time. I think what made it such a good follow up is that it gave you everything you lov...( read more)ed from the original and enhanced it. The ruthless and gross out gore was done oh so classy.

A solid gore romp brought to you by Dr. Herbert West. I have to say I just love the West character, really brings these movies home for me. Jeffrey Combs puts a lot of effort into his performance so he can be over the top and zany but still very likable. His position is an intere...( read more)sting one, being the cause of all the bad stuff that happens but not the "villain" of the series. I didn't mind that this borrowed from Bride of Frankenstein. The story took the idea and expounded on it enough to make it original. It's also awesome to see Bruce Abbott and David Gale reprise their roles, especially Gale, who made for a great antagonist. Unfortunately this is the low point in the series. Not much of a low point, but one nonetheless. Maybe just a bit of tightening up the script's West-less moments could have done wonders. Still an enjoyable flick.

It never builds to the measured nuttiness of the first film, but this sequel does manage to impress with some great special effects and more of West's horribly ill-advised experiments that will never come to a good end.

It's a fun ride, but doesn't have the iconic images that co...( read more)me to mind from the first film, which is sad, but it's worth a look.

Give it a look, if you're like me and hadn't seen it all these years later.

Truthfully...they didn't have to make the first one, but they did and they made this one too"
