This was a pretty good movie. They got Buddy Holly down pretty good. They did miss out on a lot but I can understand seeing as the licensing prevented them from being totally accurate. The live performances were really good, they make the music a lot better.

MCT:March 26, 2008Gary Busey got an Oscar nod for his portrayal of Buddy Holly. That is unfortunately the bright spot in this whole movie.
The rest of this film (from cinematography, direction) feels like a B-level TV film. (Considering that the director's last couple of films have been sequels in the 'Bring it On' franchise.) -

although i dont like reading reviews on biopics that say there were alot of inaccuracies, and hearing that the original member of the crikets backed out because of these inacuracies doesnt help its cause but i tell you something, if you get a chance to watch one thing gary busey did in his career watch this, he actually transforms himself into buddy holly and does all the singing in the film as well. great movie

I love this movie i like how it really shows his life ans what we went through to become a good musician. Also Gary Busey did a wonderful and great job playing Buddy Holly
