    Tak banyak film yang dapat menggambarkan sebuah teori sosial dengan cukup komprehensif. Film ini salah satunya.

    Film ini seperti film anatomik yang menggambrakan sisi teori dependensia yang banyak ditemukan sandaran faktualnya di kawasan2 amerika latin, tempat dimana kisah dalam filmini mengambil setting.

    Film ini bercerita tentang penduduk asli sebuah daerah bernama cazuero di pedalaman brazil yang kemudian menjadi aktivis lingkungan melindungi hutan karet alam amazon.

    Dalam film ini digambarkan anatomi teoritisnya, seperti munculnya kelompok pemodal, investor asing, birorat dan pemain politik, para kompradaor, dan scared-opressed civilian.

    Selain anatomi itu, itu juga ditampilkan tentang quasi-awarness pada donor asing pembangunan dunia ketiga yang berpesta di pusat amerika, dan membiacarakab nasib dunia ketiga bersama gelas sampanye.

    selain dimensi teoretik, film ini juga mengajari tentang paham perlawanan tanpa kekerasan, prinsip satu lidi lawan seikat lidi, serta beberapa cikal teologi pembebasan.

    Pemakaman chico mendes, yang dimainkan dg ciamik oleh mendiang raul julia menjadi ending film ini.
