On the set of this movie Judd Apatow met Leslie Mann and if it weren't for this movie then who knows how his life would be
-
funny movie i own the dvd i love jim carrey he is so funny i own some of his movies on dvd!!!!!!!!!!!
-
This movie is actually incredibly dark to what I thought it would be - it has some laugh-out-loud moments that I really enjoyed, but for a Jim Carrey movie, it was incredibly dark.
-
Jim Carrey is a god and the lisp he uses (so convincingly) makes solid gold comedy value. The star trek hommage and 'somebody to love' karaoke scene make this film.
-
i don't really like jim carey, his only good movies were fun with dick and jane, and bruce almighty-his old stuff is just annoying
-
funny and dark! jim carrey the cable guy just wants friends and when he thinks he's got one he becomes obsessive. funny , crazy and has a young jack black in it too.
-
The Cable Guy is quite a funny movie. I liked Jim Carrey in this movie because of his lisp that he talked with for the entire film.
-
Massively underrated dark comedy by Ben Stiller, Jim Carrey is excellent as lonley cable guy Chip Douglas who after installing cable for Steven(Matthew Broderick) decides to become his best friend. The script is excellent and Matthew Broderick is watchable despite playing the same character in every movie he does, but it's Carrey who steals the show and it's worth watching just for his performance.

My good buddy Tyler would never stop talking like Jim Carrey in this movie. He always did the lisp and it was hilarious. It made me love this movie even more.
-
Not one of Carrey's best or funniest films. It was mildly entertaining. I did chuckle a few times. It did have a good cast.
-
WOW I LOVE this movie! I know most people expect 100% slapstick screwball comedy from Jim but he shows a dark side in this movie while maintaing his own brand of humor! I love it!

Jim Carrey does dark comedy alongside Matthew Broderick in a movie that wont have you calling Cable Guy very soon...

"At first viewing.. i seem to had gotten lost at the movies brand of comedy.. bec. the way it was potrtayed has that weird sense that your about to say "What the?" or kinda "whats happening here?" .. but after repetitive airtime on cable tv iam finding more of more of its dark comedic musings and humour.. like iam just getting the punchlines late in my sytem and the in the end it has that special lesson to it if you do get it. Even bit a sense of drama if your heart (or your head for that matter) is in the right place. Akwardly good?

Strange black comedy, Jim Carry in one of his best parts ever -for the lisp but as said a strange movie.
-
Big Jim Carrey fan...proved wat an awesome actor he is coz i just hated his character in this movie...unfortunately, i didnt like the movie either.
-
This is a very under-rated film in my opinion. I am aware that this film may be darker, harder to get into and not in any major way like any Carrey film previous to this, but it is never-the-less a great dark-comedy. Carrey is brilliant as the lonely yet psychotic cable guy, and Broderick is great as the victim customer, with great cameos by director Ben Stiller, and fellow funny actors Jack Black and Owen Wilson.

I seen this movie in HArisson while i was quite little and I thought it was a stupid scary movie and that Jim Carrey oculd have done better. he is one awsome actor though when he wants to be.

THE CABLE GUY (1996)
directed by Ben Stiller
starring Jim Carrey. Matthew Broderick, Leslie Mann«Free cable is the ultimate aphrodisiac.»
The character Jim Carrey plays in The Cable Guy is similar to the one Robert DeNiro played in Martin Scorsese's The King of Comedy. They both are troubled people in an unfunny way. The Cable Guy was meant to be dark, much like the Scorsese film, and lots of people were simply expecting another Ace Ventura when it came out and still today people dislike it cause its nto what they expect or want it to be.Of course The Cable Guy isnt all that deep but its odd enough to be enjoyable. Ben Stiller does a great job at directing this film cause he totally understands where the script is going.
Carrey is creepy like he should be and makes this films work with a lot of big laugh, quirky moments and he gives an overall good performance.
Its a film that is hard to enjoy but all the pop culture references are fun. There are lots of cool scenes and even if towards the end the film loses some of its fuel it manages to reach the finish line without too much damage. Underrated.

This has to be one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies. It's hilarious, but yet has this psychological thriller side to it, so to speak. Alot of today's top comedic actors make appearances; such as Owen Wilson, Jack Black/Kyle Gass, Andy Dick, and Ben Stiller (who also Directs). Yes it is a dark comedy, but if you just pay attention to the detail Carrey goes into with his performance, you'll be rolling on the floor. I recommend this to anyone who loves Carrey's movies, "This concludes my broadcast review, click".

Not Jim Carrey's funniest movie but still quite entertaining.. some hilarious parts here and there. Carrey's character is one creepy bastard, I must say.
Well this is entertaining. I don't have much else to say about it.. -
Too dark- people want to see hijinks and silliness when they go see Carey- not some sadistic cable fella who stalks and licks prison glass
-
Totally under-rated comedy. Yes, you heard me! The problem is, I believe, that they changed the ending. The Cable Guy is supposed to die. So, go watch it, and pretend he dies at the end, and pretend you don't hate Jim Carrey, and there you go.
-
One of my favorite Jim Carrey movies. I am a big critic of Jim Carrey, and I don't like most of his movies. This was amazing. I love the little show tunes he puts into everything.
-
A little bit ahead of it's time. Still a very dark comedy that is kind of hard to swallow. Ben Stiller fans will find his direction a little poor but the running joke of himself as parent-murdering twins is delightful. Jim Carrey is funny, but not ha-ha funny. Truly one for the hardcore fans.

Carrey OVeracts Too Much In Some Of His Movies For Example Cable Guy That I Couldnt Stand At Him Most Of The Times But It's Not Carrey's Worst It's Ok To Watch But I Didnt Like Carrey With His Annoying Charachter And His Overacting
