this is a pretty solid film. it was a shadow of what i expected, being slow, simple, and without intensity for a film about a mutiny. but the performances were solid and it was entertaining. overall a pretty solid film.

the problem with this was its length. it was too long for what it was. if it was supposed to be a courtroom drama keep it mostly in the courtroom. the court only came into play in the last half hour and save humphey bogarts acting there were no strong performances up until the la...( read more)

Bogart is execellent as the obviously psychologically damaged captain relieved by his officers who raise doubts about his fitness to command. One of the great courtroom dramas

Madness arraises and sanity occasionally lost in this great WWII epic starring wonderful Humphrey Bogart.

Certainly one of Humphrey Bogart's finest performances. He is amazingly good, and it is a pleasure to see him act in this, particularly when it is against type. The screenplay is extremely well done. A fine classic.
