This is a marvel of a movie from it's time -- a bit stiff as we watch it from our time -- but great, nevertheless

this is a pretty solid film. it was a shadow of what i expected, being slow, simple, and without intensity for a film about a mutiny. but the performances were solid and it was entertaining. overall a pretty solid film.

Bogart is execellent as the obviously psychologically damaged captain relieved by his officers who raise doubts about his fitness to command. One of the great courtroom dramas

Certainly one of Humphrey Bogart's finest performances. He is amazingly good, and it is a pleasure to see him act in this, particularly when it is against type. The screenplay is extremely well done. A fine classic.
