Cole Hauser is a bad ass. Eddie Cibrian was in ABC's Invasion...and Morris Chestnut was in Boyz N Da Hood. OH YEAH Piper Perabo was in Coyote Ugly... Wait a second, Lena Headey was in 300! YEAAAA, lets throw them in a cave. Just my opinion
Terrible movie, the acting is just as the whole movie. We follow random scientists/whatevers who, for some reason, gets trapped in a cave along with something. I could name ONE of the many boring, empty characters and it was Jack... but I had no idea who he was. Anyway, the movie is just filled with all the horror/monster clichés you can name and the acting was so bad I was laughing. "There's something in the water!" Eeek!
I don't know what this movie wanted to be... horror... science fiction... thriller... better than Alien or The Thing? Failed on all.
wow what a thriller ive just seen this for the 1st time nd was impressed with this movie...i think this has a good story line,,,good tag line throughout this has a good cast of characters throughout the movie....i think the creatures were really kewl in this flick....its really claustraphobic......the director keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout because u dont really now what 2 expect from this movie.....i think this was an really good enjoyable film that i really enjoyed
Wow what a dumb movie, Ie meaning the dialoge was screwed up, it had alot of plot holes and the acting was terrible. I didnt really catch on what was attacking them and when it revealed it , A huge disappointment.
Lol Also the editing made the movie seem corny to the point i didnt want to finish the ending =D
I highly reccommend that you dont waste the time and watch this tasteless movie,=( I watched this on demand.
It's hard to get really excited about this film. It's got cool creatures and a nifty little premise of spelunkers getting trapped underground and having to fight for their lives against nasty critters in the dark. It's a part like The Relic. The problem really lies in the face that it's just not that interesting. Perhaps it's the lackluster characters who you really don't care about, or maybe it's the should-be-but-aren't-all-that-thrilling action set pieces. Try Descent instead.
Thirty years ago, in the Carpathians Mountains of Romania, a group of explorers blows an entrance to a cave hidden under a church, but the explosion causes a landslide and they become trapped inside. In the present days, the expedition leaded by Dr. Nicolai and his assistant, Dr. Kathryn are exploring the place and they find the access through an underwater river, requesting the experienced cave divers team leaded by Jack. Dr. Nicolai discovers that, in accordance with the local legend, the church was built to seal the cave as a display of God's protective power, and that Templar Knights entered the cave to fight winged demons. When the group reaches a cave though a tunnel one mile below and three miles in, a creature attacks one of the members and his breathing apparatus explodes, collapsing the tunnel and trapping the group in the cave. Sooner they realize that they are the rescue team and they have to find an exit to survive from the attack of the monsters.
A group of explorers is sent down into a newly discovered cave system in Romania to uncover it's secrets. They find a lot of slimy creatures and natural lighting set-ups. I was expecting this to be a complete waste of time, but I found it to be a mildly enjoyable little horror/thriller with a great cast (Cole Hauser, Eddie Cibrian, Lena Headey, Morris Chestnut, Piper Perabo and Daniel Dae Kim), fantastic visuals and CGI and lots of cool action scenes. Too bad the movie is totally predictable, it's bloodless and the ending is so bad that you can't help but laugh at the cheesiness of it.
Like a bad TV movie that somehow made it on to the big screen. Formulaic and nicking from everything, right down to a B-movie ending to set up a sequel.
The monsters look like a cross between the half human alien in Alien Ressurection combined with the walking critters from Tremors 2, but combined with Species era CGI effects. And Eddie Cibrian comes across as the poor mans Dean Cain, not that he would have been that expensive in the first place.
Just skip it and watch the Descent instead. Or watch it on the Sci-Fi channel.
Sort of The Descent-lite. Similar idea, but made on a much bigger budget with less ambition, and a lot less blood! A little too much macho posing, but still quite enjoyable.
One star and a half for the monsters and that is all. This movie was so boring. Not scary, not gory, not even suspensfull. The ending sucked as well. This movie sucked so much that Photobucket doesn't even have any pictures of the movie.
I found it to be ok for a film set in a cave the special effects were ok and its amazing to think that the former spelunkers somehow changed into those creatures over time and I found the ending quite surprising.
Only a 15yr old kid would enjoy this. There are no good action scenes. The character development is poor and the acting isn't very convincing. At the end of the movie, I can barely remember any of the characters' names.
It was ok but, alot of the script was predictable and the ending was obvious. If your looking to be entertained without alot of excitement or suspense then, this is the movie for you.
Good movie, but nothing special. Special effects were fine. Cave shots were cool. The "special feature" of how they shot the movie in caves and underwater was interesting. The acting was mediocre. The mutated human alien resembled the alien in the Alien movies. Hollywood needs to think of something new. It was okay as a rental, but I won't buy it.

If you like movies shot in the dark (mostly), people being eaten by "something", love people squeezing through narrow spaces, and a typical sci-fi ending, then you might like this movie.
