  One of those films that you watch a child and the images and characters stay with you. Toy Story took a lot from this film and then expanded on it. Here we have a fun 50 minutes of some lovable puppets, though the little girl is a female variation on Chucky. It's a fun favourite for all, though I kind of wish it had kept it's darker tone to the very end.

  A Little Known Classic from Jim Henson and Company. Jim Henson studios will always be most remembered for Sesame Street and The Muppets (both TV and film) but the company did produce some very decent and often overlooked TV films in the 80's. The Christmas Toy is decidedly the best. The plot is simple, a stuffed Tiger and Doll were once Christmas toy's (arguable the best toy's ever) for the boy and girl of the house. Remembering the magical moment they seek to rewrap themselves to be opened again on Christmas Day. The movie is very emotionally deep with many heartbreaking moments like when the Tiger realizes there are new toys in the boxes and that he'll never be as special to the boy as he once was; and what happens if the toys are ever discovered moving by the family. Strong, deep stuff for a family film.
