What do you suppose happens back home if you die here?

Simple: If you die in Narnia, what do you think happens in real-life?

I loved the first Narnia movie. So I was determined to see this one.. I thought it was good.. but it's awesome.. I first stepped into the movie expected what I saw really. I knew that the movie was going to be worth seeing. When Caspian starts running from his own kingdom, the horse scene was really fast paced. The story was not drawn out and the acting was believable. And Edmund grow a responsible prince here than at first. They show more imagination and creativity.. and the more I enjoyed when I watch the bloopers... I cant stop laughing.. Lucy is very jolly...In the end of the film when Regina Spektor sang the soundtrack "No need to say goodbye" I feel sad, I really feel it..the impact of the song make me sad.. I hate leaving..
Big why? Why they compare this to LOTR. They are different.... LOTR is LOTR ....Narnia is Narnia..

I thought it was pretty good. Like the first one better, this was kind of forgettable. I should watch it again.

This sequel could've been betterly prepared, shot, acted and choreographed, bit it wasn't. However, the special effects are stunning and the characters are lovable and likeable. I hope this franchise keeps getting better and better, specially when we are expecting The Voyage of t...( read more)he Dawn Treader with a different director. The problem with this film is that it lacked the charm of the original and fell a lot into typical cliches normally found in these kind of films.

good interpretation of the book. very enjoyable
  • September 14, 2009
Pretty decent. I like the way that although it is similar to Lord of the Rings and other I suppose war/action movies, that it is way different in that their is no blood and guts. Huge move away from the first movie and the well known book, but still good. The older chick, Anna Po...( read more)pplewell is fair rootable in this!

This on surprised me somewhat. I had my mind set for kitsch and schmultz but what I got was a gripping tale of fantasy and heroism. I was pleasantly surprised by how faithful the film was to Lewis' novel, even to the point of upholding the Christian theme that underlies the entir...( read more)e Chronicles series.

i havent watch the first episode of narnia :(. but in this second one, i admire the casting work. 4 siblings have been chosen eleborately. evryone has their way to express their remarkable character. the only thing i cant stand is Prince Caspian, hes not good at all. u can see de...( read more)eply the boost of the poster, hes not that attractive in real movie. huh. the rest is quite cool. death is mentioned alot, surprise me!

Four siblings (William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley) are whisked back in time to the magical land of "Narnia" when the four are waiting for a train.

They find the land, in which they were declared royalty hundreds of "Narnia's" years before, in r...( read more)uins.

They eventually learn that the prince (Ben Barnes) of the neighboring "Telmar" summond them with a magical horn, and decide to help him get to the throne as he was destined.

However, the uncle (Sergio Castellitto) of the prince, who is king of "Telmar", wants the prince dead. But, the siblings and the prince rally the "Narnians" into battle.

Let me say this first that this, and the last one in the series I watched (I think it was the first movie in the series, but that was long ago) is not making me want to read the books they are based on. I usually lean more toward science-fiction than fantasy, so that could be the reason as to why I don't want to read the source material.

I found the story long, and dragged on fairly slow. However, it never slowed to a crawl. In fact, though the pace was pretty slow, it was just fast enough to keep you from getting too bored. The begining of the movie was really slow, and made me want to turn it off. However, once the siblings got to "Narnia," the movie's pace picked up to something more bareable.

I wasn't really impressed with the performances in the movie, but the actors did a fine job. I did like how the chemistry between the actors worked out, especially those who were in the previous film.

One thing that must have looked amazing on the big screen was the scenery and special effects. From what I have read about this film, a good majority of the film's budget went to the special effects -- of which there is alot. In fact, this film heavily relies on special effects.

In this film, you get scenery that would be impossible, if not too expensive to make. You also get at least 99% of the cast as CGI characters.

I usually hate characters made entirely by a computer, but the ones in this film are simply the best I've seen. Usually, human actors aren't looking into the CGI characters' eyes when they are together on screen. However, it appeared to me that the CGI characters are lined up perfectly.

The only downside of the CGI characters is that hair and fur do not look realistic ever. Look at the animals in this film on close-ups, and you will see what I mean. This is especially evident with the lion "Aslan" (voiced by Liam Neeson). In close-ups, the fur on his body, not to mention his eyes, don't look realistic. However, the animation is amazing with all these characters.

The voice actors worked very well, including scenes with real people. Many times, I forgot that I was looking at a talking lion or mouse. I have to give props to the human actors who had to perform with the CGI characters. Their performances helped bring the CGI characters into reality really well.

I wasn't really impressed with character development with new characters in this film. The lead villain had only enough screen time to explain to the audience why he does what he does, but he doesn't get enough time on-screen to develop in a way to where you would not like him the instant he returns to the screen.

If I remember correctly, the actors portraying the siblings were pretty bad in the first film. There was some big improvement, especially with the youngest actors. If you ask me, the human actors really didn't stand out from each other.

Wardrobes in this film were great in this film. Human clothing mainly consisted of darker tones. There were no brightly colored outfits that stood out like a sore thumb. The clothing seemed to be really accurate for the time period.

The action was spread out through the entire film. None of which built to the battle between the forces of good and evil. There was one major battle, followed by a sword fight that was really hurt by it being placed right after the battle.

Because the world of "Narnia" is over a thousand years ago, you deal with weaponry that does produce blood. However, there is no blood where there should be. Parents will not have to worry about any serious amounts of blood, nor will they worry about any foul language.

Except for one particular piece of music, I really don't remember the soundtrack in this film. I do remember one song near the end of the movie because it's the only one I noticed with singing. Most of the music is just insrumentals that did help enhance the scenes. It was nothing memorable though.

Catch this on HBO if there is nothing else on. This movie, in my opinion, is not good enough to skip a favorite television program over. It almost comes close though.

I have never expected the second part will be such a worst one comparing to the first one... There was nothing big in this film comparing to the first one a useless one and very pathetic one....i don't like this part as if the director cheats us showing aslan only for 10mins... That is ridiculous...

Every one said this was horrible, but it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be. At least the little girl didn't c...( read more)ome off as a creepy goblin crackhead this time. But the accents were horrible, and I never understood the urgent need for people to return to the normal world (Oz, Wonderland, Narnia, etc.)- "We're not coming back because we've learned all we can here"??? Okay, so maybe it has more to do with the book than the movie, but still.

Posters and trailer were shown in Dec 2007. It?s been?coming soon? for a long time since The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was released in 2006 and Prince Caspian got rescheduled to 2008. Shown May 2008 in most countries, I just saw it Sunday this week. It still is Summer thou...( read more)gh as was Disney?s intention. A coincidence, the world of Narnia has animals that talk in it. Like most Disney productions, children are conquering adults. Of course, we can?t deny the great wisdom of Aslan and Neeson provides the perfect voice to this character. Nothing?s new as to the summoning horn or the duel asked or the rivalry of successors to a throne. Telmarines, a coinage by the author, is easy to recall. The movie plot, different from the book, still gives it a good flavor but the display of fireworks, I see as quite advance to be used for a setting that doesn?t know what a torch is. The flashlight came in the 19th cent. Edmund anyhow only says ??would THIS help?? ;] The accented actors make you wonder how Telmarines are to sound like. I?m not sure but a soldier for one could be Polish as their acknowledgment mentions a Poland team. The line delivered with the best voice quality comes from the dwarf who asks ?and you wonder why we don?t like you?? I so like his British accent! The persona of Philip the Great claims they didn?t mean to leave Narnia but close to the end,he contradicts himself saying, they better go as they aren?t needed in Narnia any longer. Awesome cinematography, soundtrack, centaurs and gryphons! The White Witch connects to its first flick. What?s new? Barnes who plays Caspian. This hottie,a new face for me, confirmed liking this CS Lewis novel when he was 8. Yet Susy says ?It won?t work? because she?s 1300 yrs older (or because she?s dating Peter in real life? =D)That might?ve made the movie a GP =D but with some violence shown, not quite. I guessed right, the MPAA rates it PG-13. Moviegoers cheered twice when I saw it.
