I wish they would have started from the first book and gone in order how can you start in book 2 then skip to book 4 which is what Prince Caspian is ... Aside from that it's missing A LOT of details ... The effects were good that's all

Paaaawah! Wot Girl Can't Say They Didn't Like This Film :P
  • July 5, 2009
Kind of a sad attempt in following Lord of the Rings. At least the first film had a bit of mystique behind it, this film just felt repetitive.

Really good film actually. Some really good fight scenes as well although they feel totally fake as there isn't a single drop of blood. I mean, who can get their head cut of without bleeding? And all the swords and weapons stay shiny and clean throughout the whole thing. I know i...( read more)t's a childrens film but with some of the other things they show in this film I'm sure they can get away with a tiny bit of blood.
That aside though it's a very good film. I haven't read the book so can't compare it to it but on it's own it's got good characters and story and the visual effects are STUNNING! Usually I hate it when films use loads of CGI but here it all fits in together and looks very clear and realistic.
Easily as good as the first film and better in quite a few scenes.
    8/10

This second adaptation of C.S. Lewis? continues the adventures of the four Pevensie children. In the first film, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy traveled time and were transported from World War II Britain to the parallel world of Narnia, before returning to reality and school, whe...( read more)re they seem like every other pupil. But all four kids are waiting to be summoned back to Narnia. And the summons finally comes from Prince Caspian (Barnes), who wants to reclaim his throne from his evil uncle. What follows are over two hours of adventures, swashbuckling sword scenes and extraordinary special effects.
Adult viewers can look for the religious and political subcontexts, but kids will love this fun and intelligent adaptation, set to be another epic in the line of Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.

A little better than first one purely based on ages of characters (and actors as well). They look more believable when fighting.

In an attempt to introduce more action and a touch of romance, this is not a pure adaptation of Lewis' book - and I think the story suffers a little because of this. That said, this isn't a bad family movie - although the action is a little dark for younger viewers. The acting is...( read more)n't always great but the direction is pretty good, the CGI is brilliant and the plot moves at a decent pace.

The four Pevensie children (Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy) are magically pulled back to Narnia. But they find their old castle in ruins and their kingdom occupied by a foreign race, the Telmarines, and ruled by a usurper, King Miraz. They must help the rightful heir, Prince Ca...( read more)spian, claim his place on the throne.

There are spectacular battle scenes resembling those in "The Lord of the Rings", but here the dialog is rather lame and uninspired, and in places, the acting is weak. The children mumble their lines. Some of the best dialogue from the book is gone, and the confusing story line diverges too much from the novel on which it was based.

In my review of the first Narnia movie, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", I said that the author C.S. Lewis would be pleased with the movie adaptation. The same cannot be said of this film.
