too stoned review: cant ber bothered typin right now just wasnr funny comedians r boring
two days later review: This doc follows the comics it says it does only to reveal something most of us already know -comedians are fucking boring. Yeh, they're funny when they're paid to be, but when they're not on stage, they're not havin orgies and drum circles in the tour bus, they're just getting drunk, farting, and napping like a retirement home with the occasional injection of humor observed when the comedians are working on their act or engaging in comedian talk with one another (analyzing jokes, sets, shit like that).
If you are a fan of Brian Posehn, Patton Oswalt, or Zack Galifianakis and you want to see their butts, watch this movie. Chubs Posehn and Oswalt strip down to nadda but their bullocks in hand, and cubby Galifianakis is eager to show off his hot rear on the tour bus. Thus ends the highlights of this movie - a weirdo piano playing cock tease is eager to show off his plump buttocks and two insecure bitchy chubs walkin around naked in the woods. And Maria Bamford's set. But you could just watch "The Comedians of Comedy: Live at the El Rey" and just see the standup bits rather than watch this, which has bits from that El Rey gig and a few others, but really only for CoC fans.
Might be worthwhile for Galifianakis fans as he is not at the El Rey show, but I don't know his material, so I don't know if anything on here is unique.

Entertaining documentary following four very funny comedians on an "indy comic tour". There's something exciting behind the ideas Patton Oswalt has for indy comics, namely that he and his compatriots are trying with this tour to get audiences to start following the progression of indy comics' careers much as you'd follow the progress of an indy rock band, watching as they experiment with new ideas and new material. Since it's a documentary following the actual tour, we don't get to see as much of the stage acts as I'd have liked, but what is shown is funny stuff. And it's interesting to listen to them talk about how they develop their materials, horror stories from their time on the road in dive clubs, and just watching them play off each other as they explore every facet of what "comedy" is.

A great documentary about real comedians. Brian Posehn's explanation of Star Wars is one of the funniest bits I have ever heard.

Okay, I was really shooting to review the new Comedians of Comedy: Live at the Troubadour DVD, but apparently that's not really a movie so much as concert footage. Fine, I'll review this one. It doesn't really matter because I love both movies and I just saw them at their Ann Arbor show, which was awesome.

I didn't care for the shameless Netflix advertisement. Sure, I'm anti-Netflix, so that could explain a lot, but it was everywhere. But that aside, it was refreshing seeing the personal lives of these very funny people. I have to say that these people are the funniest people on the planet. That's not me using hyperbole. These people make me laugh more than anyone else ever. I actually follow these people's careers and judge if I'm going to see something or not based on their apparances in film. It's gotten to that level of fandom. I'm actually tempted to see the new Sean Penn vehicle because of Zach Galifianakis. That's right.

The sweet-and-low of this DVD is that it is a healthy mix of performances and documentary following their lives. Is it accurate? Probably as accurate as any documentary can get. At the end of the day, you'll probably laugh a lot and wish you could hang out with these guys. That's a pretty solid find within a DVD.

Loved it. It had my two favorite things, a documentary and stand up comedy. It also appealed to the giant nerd that I love so much.

The premiere Comedians of Comedy tour was one of the most innovative stand-up events in recent memory. Unfortunately, this lackluster documentary does little to convey that. Comprised of randomly chosen scenes from Comedy Central's 'Comedians of Comedy' docu-series, this film brings you the worst of everything - the most awkward moments, the bits that fell flat, the dullest road stories, etc. - and presents them out of chronological order. The result is amateurishly slapdash, and provides no insight as to who the comedians are, or what the tour was about. For a better take on the whole thing, check out the TV series, now on DVD.

Patton Oswalt cracks me up. That short, chubby little dude is hilarious.

And the other comedians are pretty funny, too.

Let me start off by saying: "I don't like Patton Oswalt. He does not amuse me as a comedian, and he does not amuse me as an actor. Just because he preaches anti-Bush jokes does not mean he deserves my respect; he's like a male Margaret Cho." - With that being said, I love the parts with Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn. Maria Bamford can be amusing occasionally, but she tends to lean more towards the annoying side. - All in all, I enjoyed the experience.

Two of my favorite comedians and a couple others who are amazing. Ok, how cool. I just wish I could have seen the tour myself.

Wow is this on DVD even? it's a TV show and it was hilariously funny. IT wasn't as good as Tourgasm because the comedians were not themselves most of the time... they were putting on a facade and acting... it got annoying...
