Susan Blakely, Robert Wagner, Charo

This film is the last of the 'Airport' genre which stars George Kennedy again in his aviation-disaster struck role as Joe Patroni who has to contend with nuclear missiles, the French Air Force and the...( read more  read more... ) threat of the plane splitting in two over the Alps! This is all because a lady on board, Maggie has some documents which put Harrison Industries in big trouble (showing that they make nuclear weapons) and their leader, played by Robert Wagner, wants the Concorde to crash with Maggie (Susan Blakely) in it!!

An incredible story where a passenger-carrying Concorde is under attack by the French Air Force. This movie has to be seen just to experience the appalling special effects as the Concorde banks to avoid a missile.

Final installment of the Airport series which had been steadily declining since the original in 1970. The efx are pathetic, but even worse the storyline is poor with plot holes big enough to fly the concorde through. The script is downright awful, with plenty of awkward moment...( read more)s, although meant to be serious, elicit snickers or belly laughs from the viewer. Poor george Kennedy, minimalized in Airport 1977, has a leading role in this feature but almost seems embarassed by this fiasco. A poor wrap-up to the series. This movie can best be summed with by the "cockpit" remark..poor taste and putrid. The movie seems to suddenly end; I guess the producer ran out of money and decided enough was enough.

Shame to see such mythical airplane in such a crappy movie. Some nice flight and taxi scenes and of course liftoff but the rest is just bad special effects.

not as a great but still a classic
  • July 22, 2007
Although highly implausible (there is NO WAY this woman who had never flown before could've landed a freaking Concorde) still worth one viewing just for laughs sake,

My second favourite Airport movie. [After'Airport '77'] Fun to watch how capable the Concorde was.
