A talented computer hacker named Taz "Rat" Finch (DJ Qualls) when The FBI need him to 'hack the planet', literally infiltrating the entire global Internet in an effort to prevent a worldwide panic as he hacks into a cyber-cafe to uploads pictures of the six 'unsung heroes', the Virgil mission: Project DESTINI.
didn't really like it, watched this in my physics class and i had to watch it, if i could, would have stopped watching it. predictably they die one by one
The usual stuff, the usual victims, the usual ending, the usual professor heros, the usual government ass&$#$s. The did an alright job, check it out if you liked movies like Armageddon.
I know a lot of people don't like this movie, but for some reason, I do. It might be cliche, it might be overused, but the heroism of the characters really shines through. I like it.
This is an interesting concept; travelling to the centre of the Earth to restart the core. I really enjoy seeing the effects the core stopping has on Earth and the ending is great.
A riff of Journey to the Center of the Earth, except the science kind of makes more sense, as the terranauts travel into the hot molten center of the planet. This is impossible but so is finding a lost world in the center in the Jules Verne story. They just didn?t know. Now they do, so the Earth?s core is molten. The silly thing is, it stopped spinning, so they have to restart it. Yeah right.
I thought it was pretty good as well. Entertaining. A little bit too unrealistic for my taste. I mean really... going to the center of the Earth and surviving the trip, was a bit of a stretch. But then I would be kinda dissapointed as well that the movie would've ended with everyone dead. No one wants that so the unrealistic survival of those characters was reasonable. But I must admit it was a good concept and a tad original as well with all of it's ideas about how electromagnetic waves would affect the Earth. Now I am not a physicist so I do not know if all the things presented in the movie concur with actual physics law (I hated that class!!)... and frankly I really don't care that much. It's just a movie. But I guess it's curious to think about such things.
I say this movie is underrated. Sure it's ridiculous, but it knows that it is, and it's a lot of fun. Any movie with a space shuttle crash landing in the LA river gets a thumbs up from me.
You know, it's a disaster flick - so you can't go in expecting top notch anything, except perhaps special effects. The Core delivers those, and actually manages to be an etertaining movie throughout. Yes, the story is a little far fetched - ok, perhaps a lot far fetched - but the action and some of the dramatic scenes were completely riveting, and for the better part of this film, I was on the edge of my seat.
This movie was really stupid because the science doesn't make sense at all, much like in most disaster/armageddon movies (Day After Tomorrow, Armageddon, etc), but ignoring the scientific inaccuracies, it was entertaining. I always manage to like Aaron Eckhart's characters, even when he plays a bad guy, and this movie was no exception. DJ Qualls plays a computer hacker who is also an interesting element in the film.
Fortunately this is not the worst movie ive watched, and the story of the movie is not the most stupid of its kind. But if u constantly watched this kind of disaster-that-wait-for-a-team- to- rescue- the-whole-world movie., u can completely guess out the whole plot of THE CORE. The ending is typical and boring. The most impressing thing, perhaps the only thing, is the performance of DJ Qualls. That star is given to Qualls.
this movie is a little bit old but i had never seen it in its entirely. i was highly surprised how much i actually enjoyed watching it. the storyline is interesting, what happens if the earth stops spinning and needs a jump start. the actors do a good job playing out the characters and at the end of the movie, you actually cheer on the underdog. very entertaining.
now this is amazing, no matter what the other said with this one, but i like it! especially the exploration to the core...make me really imagine how if our earth having similar problem.. darn...
bn cool...la vi para hacer un trabajo y no me arrepiento...se dio buena ehh ademas uno aprende par de cosas de las peliculas, ya q nunk tienen q ser de matar o de violencia o de alguna otra cosa q nos afecte!
I loved this movie, the information given throughout was totally on, I was in geography during the time I saw this movie & was able to share some of the facts I learned to my family & the very things I shared were revealed throughout the movie. Awesome to the Core...=) I love these kind of movies...If u haven't seen this movie I strongly recommend you check it out...
This movie caused me to question if humans deserve to live. No, the story isn't that deep...I question our right to live for allowing this garbage to even be made.
I don't remember much of this fillm, but I do remember it was nothing special at all. I also wouldn't bother watching it again, nor would I recomend this film to anyone.
